debnevada - I guess you had more honest health care professionals. I really wish that the long term effects would have been discussed with me before treatment.

merryBe - I will have to get into the back of the closet and see if there were any long term side effects mentioned. I probably didnt focus on them as the side effects during treatment were fun enough to focus on.

my recollection was that the literature included info about possible long term effects such as RA and diebetes etc. So the idea that disability could occur, as with autoimmune one never knows, was covered.

It may not have been spelled out precisely...but when people read, RA, lupus, MS etc...they should have some idea that debilitation cannot be ruled out.
That is the risk any time one tries to tweak the immune system into a high state of alert.
Backlash, especially for the aged or those with other disorders cannot be insured against. Until they come up with drugs that touch ONLY the virons and nothing else, these risks will always be there.

I dont recall there being anything in the sheets about long term disability.

At least I was told that I would return to normal between 3 & 6 months of ending treatment.

I did a search some time ago and found that one firm was collecting info on a class action. The site said they were no longer collecting data and I never followed up.

If your issue is with the treatment advice you received in using the drug, rather than the drug itself, that would be more of a personal matter perhaps and not a class actions.

The drugs are all there is.  You have to sign a consent form for the risks and benefits.  There is no legal recourse in that case.  you go in informed.

What for? All the possible side effects are listed UP TO AND INCLUDING DEATH.

It's the only thing available that kills the virus or puts it into suspension.

So why would anyone put interferon into the courts... That would be idiotic.

I was wondering why you ask.  Did you have a problem on the treatment?
