long term side effects

My husband has been through 3 different treatsment with interferon and ribavirin but is a none responder. a month after stopping his last treatment we noticed that his liver and spleen had enlarged
now to the point that they have extended his abdomen. His liver weight about 20 lbs and his spleen weighs about 10 lbs. has anyone heard of this happening.

I am already looking into takeing him to the mayo clinic, where we are the choices are limied but I will keep in contact. Thanks

I think I would probably consult with another Hepatologist. To me, this sounds very uncomfortable and not right. Remember, we hire Doctors, just as if they were employees of ours. If your Doctor can't tell you why or what to do about this, I would seriously question his abilities. Please let me know what the outcome is.

My husband had an exploritory done thi past summer, the surgen told us after that, and the ultrasound hepled them determine the weight as well. This is a real mystry to our doctors, i am really desperate for some answers.

I have also done 3 rds. of therapy and I am a relapser, non-responder. I guess my question is, how do you know the weight of the organs? Through a ultra-sound, scan or what? I could not begin to relate to the weight of my organs, unless it would be considered a full, full feeling?
