Milk Thistle is a standardized herb and the recommended amount is 175mg caps or tablets 2 to 3 times daily.  There has never been any proof that this stuff works and you can pick it up at most drug stores.  That just means you don't have to buy it online as that could be pricey.  What MT has been proven to do is make some ppl think that they are getting better, not.  The HepC still progresses and does it's damage.  If you want to take it that's up to you, but do keep in mind that it has never been proven to lessen viral load.  Also it could interfere with other drugs or herbs one may be taking.  good luck

One of the problems you have with all herbal remedies is that they are not standardized. Indeed you have no way of knowing if what you are taking has any of the substance in it at all.

If you are interested in taking milk thistle, you might want to purchase Thisilyn from Nature's Way. This is the American packaging of a product manufactured in Germany. To the extent that there have been any studies of standardized dosing and effects, they have occurred in Germany and involved this preparation. The recommended dose is three 175mg tablets per day, which actually becomes pretty expensive.

You should be aware that there is no evidence that milk thistle impacts in any way the progression of HCV. If you have HCV, please don't put your faith in milk thistle.
