not eating

Its been almost ten years since my successful TX for hep c. My appetite started tanking halfway through the treatment. A while back it started tanking again...about the time I started hydro/acetaminophen for pain. Appetite since dropped to zero and I am tired of living on ensure and smoothies. The Doc's dont seem interestede since I am not losing weight. I deliberately try not to lose weight. Anybody got any ideas?

If I were you, and of course I'm not, I'd do a complete work up with a good internist...based on any data from the testing, I'd go see some specialist(s) to rule out things, or try to get to the bottom of it. I know depression can cause lack of hunger, but you didn't mention anything like that. Good luck.

there's lots of things that can ruin appetite, or lower it. Sometimes when the body fights a disease it naturally looses weight in the process and that may even be part of the healing process as some studies show. So overdigesting can be a problem, but so can undernourishing.  Even though I tried very hard to eat a balanced diet, so as not to hurt my heart/liver/gall bladder.....my food intake has been so low the asat fewe years it damaged my gall bladder and it had to be removed.
trust me, it's better to force yourself to drink a little smoothie than to go under the knife as a result of not having done so.

Hey, I have the same problem. Ensure is has been a mainstay for me. Once in a while I can eat like no tomorrow.  Not sure what the answer is....Sure don't want to get my gall bladder removed. In a recent report they say I have anorexia. Not sure what that means. It's not like I am trying to not eat.
