hello all, Kimmy from Australia here. I am hoping someone will be able to help me..
Pretty much just after my last menstrual cycle 4 weeks ago I started to feel nauseaus everyday, all day. it also corresponded with a period of emotional distress in my life, that has continued this time and i have felt unusually anxious. Then about 3 weeks ago I felt sharp pain under my rib cage, made the nausea worse. then I had dull ache lower right side (assumably where my ovary is) for this whole time. Had three days off work this last week, as the nausea became too much and I felt like my stomach is being eaten by acid, with frequent urination at times, pain during urination once or twice, sharp pains all over abdomen and bowell mainly right sided and dull aching right side of back leading down to over right buttock.
Well went to the doc three times - had blood tests for infections and blood cell count, etc - normal. Urine tests for infection (as urine has been dark) - normal. Upper abdomen ultra sound - kidney, pancreas, liver function - all normal. So their final say was to refer me through the public system to a gastroenterologist in 2 months or so..like I could put up with this for that long!
So I have taken to 'googling' and diagnosing myself.
Yesterday I got my period again and felt sicker than ever throughout the day, periods of throwing up white bile and overwhelming nausea with no relief. Last night my period was so heavy I was bleeding over the couch, felt really sick and really aching in pelvic area. Blood also appeared more clotted than usual, and I noticed some abnormal whiteness among that.
Today - I feel so much better already. I am actually half awake, haven't felt much stomach pain yet (though it takes awhile after getting up as lying down prevents it a lot), feel much much less nauseas and like things might be getting better.
What do you guys think? the doc felt around down over ovary but only briefly, could a cyst have been there but not felt? Have had tenderness all over region and abdomen, also right side of back.Normal excretions (though lot darker, not black) when going to toilet over the few weeks. Could I have had a cyst that ruptured slowly over the weeks and was only shed at my menstrual cycle? When will the toxins that have built up be fully released from my body, leaving my tum and bowell normal? Please help if you can - should I be pi*!%d at my doctor for sending me off for two months without a sonogram? Kim
I have never used anything on my face (except ZERO sunscreen Hawaiian Tropic LOL) but I found a nice light daytime moisturizer that HAS a sunscreen in it that I can tolerate on my skin. It doesn't make me break out or ANYTHING and usually I would RIGHT away!
Since I"m so dry and have to avoid the sun I figure it's a win win situation!
I can't walk around with Gold Bond or Collagen on my skin in the daytime anyway imagine how GREASY you would look? ;0
It's "OLAY complete all day moisture loition SPF 15 light, non greasy 4.0 fl oz (118 mL)" that is what it says on the bottle. White bottle, black top.
I've actually gotten USED to it now and put it on a few times a day. I was always one of those people who can't STAND having on a moisturizer or foundation it felt so heavy and horrible but this...after a week or two of using I don't even NOTICE that I have it on now. It's wonderful.
I tried a LOT of them but it might be a good answer to your problem?
Then you can use the Gold Bond (green bottle, red top) on your body and the OLAY COMPLETE on your face (white bottle, black top). LOL I think I am obsessed with the bottles and tops probably if they were the same color I wouldn't know what i was using!
I had a cyst just prior to tx and i guess it's gone now because i don't feel anything anymore.. My ob/gyn said birth control pills help them dissolve and 99% are benign so don't worry too much. they are painful however but are usually only removed if they become too large which is rare. :) good luck and sooo sorry. tracy
poopsey? LOL, that kid of yours should be a riot when he grows up like us.
Oh yes...that is the same stuff I just started using. I don't use anything on my face I never have and so that stuff is great...i don't feel like I need to get a spatula to scrape the gunk off my face.
That's the exact same stuff....cool. I love it.
The gold bond I have to use on my hands....I have bumps on my fingers and in between....thank goodness I can work from home because I think I could really scare the poopsey out of some people.
deb in az....
Mrs Ockert-so iguess it is a pretty common side effect of tx,its just that the only time i ever missed was when i was preg. but i feel pretty run down all the time so it makes since my body is doing this thank you for the info.
angie
algernon- what a diff. a day makes in austin hope you were kept safe from the hail storms .....
my eyebrows are also looking a little wild, and when the sun glitzes my face i see golden hairs shimmering were there once was none...thank goodness thier blond....
Thanks for the input everyone. I guess maybe it is just a hormonal thing. All I know is it hurts like a Bleep Bleep...
Now the no period thing would be nice....unless that means more cysts and pain. I think I can do without the extra hair growth unless it wants to just not fall out.
Friole - Tx has been manageable. The worst has been this rash that is all over but I think I came up with a concoction that is doing the trick. We'll see after my shot toniht because it gets worse after each shot and just as I get it under control the next shot aggravates it again.
Also just a note on going out in the sun....I have never used anything on my face no lotion or anything because my skin is so sensitive....well I noticed going outside (we're in the 90's here) was making me turn red real quick. Sunscreen is too thick for my face....so my mother in law got me some Oil Of Olay sensitive face lotion that has sunscreen in it...and man oh man that stuff works great. I was out in the sun all day on Easter and my face didn't turn at all. Now the rest of my skin is a different story.
anyway I hope everyone is well....
deb in az...waiting for the fireworks of a bursting cyst and still itching.
The longer your on tx the longer it gets between periods and the lighter they get. Many women by the time they get to 6 or 7 months will have ceased having periods. After TX it takes a few months to adjust but will come back.
Goldyn, have you been outside yet? Blessed "cold" front. These 90-100 degree days have been killer.
NY: This last few months have been traumatic enough without MAGNIFICATION!! Of course, now that you've given me the idea, I'll probably go get one. I am at least curious about what's sprouting up there. My eyebrows are a very light color but they appear to be getting very wild looking -- long hairs poking about in different directions (I can see this without visual aids!!).
Said: At this point, I could have a full blown mustache and sideburns and probably miss it through the blur.
LOL I am so blind I brought a special lighted 10x magnifying mirror LOL how in the world would I be able to be so tweeze obsessed without it? The only problem with doing that is you can see EVERY wrinkle and line and imperfection and it makes me even CRAZIER but...it's better than than the chimp look ;-)
<i>I haven't had a visit from my friend since the month I started tx - which is a wierd wierd thing................That just isn't right, pick up the phone and call her/him and ask just what the problem is.</i>
Wake up and smell the coffee brother! 'Visit from a friend' is girl-2-girl code talk. I think it's that thing that was buzzing in the night... not sure on that though......
Sounds painful. I have never had them, and am long post menapausal so haven't had to deal with the hormonal issues that come up on tx too. My daughter had cysts - on her breasts which she had removed - and outside her ovaries - which she refused treatment for -- which we determined were from the devopavara birth control shots she took for a few years. I have never seen any posts here about cysts related to tx, but you may have a very sensitive system.
Otherwise, how is tx treating you?
LOL thanks for the laughing I needed it cause I almost had a riba rage and knocked this little punks head off here at work LOL.
I had my tubes tied too = ah the best decision I ever made now that I"m uh...not 25 anymore...and doing treatment LOL
I believe that it really is the low hgb that made it go away or my blown thyroid even - the NP told me imagine how lucky you are you DIDNT get it (it was supposed to come right when I had my attack and my hgb would have bottomed even LOWER) so I look at it as a great blessing of convenience - I mean REALLY LOL.
These meds totally mess with our bodies - as long as I don't get as bald as Telly Savales and as hairy as Roddy McDowell...I figure i'm A - O-K hahaha.
Wow I Just made myself sound REALLY old where did I come up with those people from? hahahaha
I had an ovarian cyst - woke up in the middle of the night thinking I had appendicitis. Stayed in the ER, the cyst ruptured and passed, no problem. Alot of times these things take care of themselves with no medical intervention other than good pain meds! I really don't think it is treatment related, just one of those things that would have happened regardless. I hope you feel better soon - I do remember it was pure misery until it took care of itself!
nygirl:Planet of the apes-"who loves ya baby"-im right there with you nygirl.....
algernon: how are you doin in the austin heat these 100 degree days are killin me, i sure hope this little front moving in will cool it down.
I am so impressed that you can still see well enough to identify a hair that might sprout on your face. At this point, I could have a full blown mustache and sideburns and probably miss it through the blur.
so you have missed a few months ...so its prob the meds that are causing me to skip this month, and since my tubes are tied i should just relax and go with the NO FLOW......
I haven't had a visit from my friend since the month I started tx - which is a wierd wierd thing................That just isn't right, pick up the phone and call her/him and ask just what the problem is.
I think cysts are really really common and probably take a bit of time to develop...while treatment can do lots of things I think most likely this was just coming all along.
Tx has played havoc with my whole system (although some is probably from my thyroid dying) I haven't had a visit from my friend since the month I started tx - which is a wierd wierd thing...I feel rather manly for a girl who always felt girly - it's all in my head but...between the hairs that pop up wherever they want to on my face now that I tweeze out EVERY single night and things like this...it really does play on my libido too :(
I hope you are doing better. You didn't need this on top did you. It just sucks. I remember when I had my son they cut a bunch of tumors and cysts out (I was having a section) and I didn't even know I HAD them...so I lucked out.
What did the doctor say?
Sorry Deb you are too nice a girl to deal with this.
I wouldn't put anything past this treatment but I think that ovarian cysts are very common among women generally. I had a lot of trouble with them when I was in my 20s (very painful). I had one that was big enough that I had surgery to remove it (25 years ago--I doubt that's the solution anymore!). I think the pain has to do with the cyst being so full of fluid. During my most severe pain, mine apparently ruptured, allowing some of the fluid to leak (and then it didn't hurt anymore). Hope that's not more that you wanted to know! Hang in there. Deb
My wife had similar about a year ago. They waited for a month or two, and it turns out it was shed on her next cycle. Very painful, but no treatment needed.
You've had one thing after another this year. My thoughts are with you.
gee, I know about those types of pains, I had a hysterectomy because of them...(which I kinda regret now) I hope you get it all sorted out, that's stinks that you have to go through this on top of tx....I would guess that anything's possible on that stuff, and it could be that it messes with your hormones, which in turn messes with your female plumbing, etc but of course that's pure amatueur speculation...it's not possible to see a obgyn or internest before that? Maybe get a little urgent sounding in your voice and demand that they see you, like tomorrow? particularly with cysts, you don't want to wait around too long...I really hope you can get these people to do something for you sooner than later...good luck to you...
Tx sure has messed with mine ialways had pms and now it has trippled major cramping and major flowing and now all of the sudden i have horrible pms and almost have skipped a whole month which i never do only when im preggers...ive already had my tubes tied and im going to go get a preg ..test..because ive almost missed 4 weeks this tx is really screwing with my body and mind .
If the pain gets worse you hop you little but right back thier waiting until may 5 just seems to long to be in that much pain.
Surprised with a response from a guy? Since you are on tx the answer is probably no but...my wife had ovarian cysts but were caused by mega doses of metrodin, perginol and estrodial for IVF procedures. Maybe hormones out of whack?. Not sure if tx related but an idea.
