You really do deserve huge congratulations and celebration.   Those failed therapies really weigh on you, and leave a feeling of pessimism and anxiety.  What fantastic news for you, and now the beginning of a whole new life...without HCV!!!  Can't think of anything nicer.  Best of luck to you in the future.

I feel pretty sure that the insomnia is an after-effect of the ribivirn. While it's combined with the interferon, the interferon is beating you down so bad that it overcomes the hyperactivity the riba causes.  Stop the IFN and there's nothing damping down the riba, which has left the blood stream but won't leave the cells for 6 mos.  I slept fine with benedryl throughout TX but had to start Lunesta and Ambien right after TX ended to control the insomnia.  They will mess up your sleep for a few days after stopping them but it's better than not sleeping.  You need sleep badly to help rebuild from the TX meds.

Steve, Congratulations on your well deserved SVR!  Boceprevir trial also has a total monitoring time of 72 weeks from day 1 of TX, and us 28-weekers will be seen as long as the 48-weekers.  It will be nice to get those free PCR's for 44 wks. after EOT.

Awsome!

I'm about 5-weeks post treatment from Vertex (Telapravir) after being taken off at week 35 due to serious medical problems that popped up from treating.  I was UND still at week 37.  I should be going in any time for another blood draw to check on things.  I'm hoping I'll still be UND too.Good luck!

I have a friend who must be SVR about 4 years now.  They simply did SOC; no TVR.

They had terrible tinnitus and vertigo.  They virtually could not move for weeks.  It is not common on TX but it can happen.

Congrats on your success!

Best,
Willy

Wow! That must be a great feeling. Coming off my first failed tx, I can't imagine having 3 of them go awry. I have that ear ringing (right now actually), even though it has gotten better, and the insomnia but I'm probably too soon of tx to declare that an ongoing problem.  I've had the vertigo, still have that but always have not liked things like escalators. The ear ringing I worry about, though. Think the rest of it will clear up. I wonder, too, which drug to blame for these issues. I was on 4 of them :(

UND must be music to your ears.  Congratulations!

Vertex has me coming back for 72 weeks total, instead of the original 6 months.  I had to sign a new consent forum a few months ago.   They had to extend the visits because the FDA required them to do so.

What are your post issues?  Do you have ringing in the ears, any skin issues, insomnia, or GI problems?  Interested to know because I was on Telaprevir also.  Its hard to know which one of the three drugs is causing my problems.
