I had excema before I found out I had HEPC and started treatment. I always used that stuff called Skin Zinc to eradicate it. When I started my treatment, they told me "you excema WILL come back and worse". I use the skin zinc almost every day, it comes in a little spray bottle and you just spray the affected area once. Well I'm on my 6th month of treatment and no significant excema outbreaks yet !

Another tip, drink as much water as will not kill you, I know that when I get itching episodes, I drink at least 2 glasses of water and this provides almost instant relief.

Another thing is Zinc Oxide cream, this seems to help with any kind of itching (even mosquito bites) and is about as cheap as dirt.

Good luck with your treatment.

Just got back from the pharmacy.  There was a green bottle with red cap but my friendly local pharmacist said that this gold bond ultimate with aloe was better.  Gonna give it a try.

Nygirl: thanks for letting me know to keep using it.  I am afraid of it getting on my face but if it does, I will just have to deal.  Go to doc on thursday so we will see what she says.

Thanks!

The gold bond triple threat anti itch medicated is the stuff that helps BUT you have to keep on using it a couple of times a day and when the rash goes you have to keep on using it or it comes back.

If it's really eczema though - you'd need to go to a dermatologist to get something special to put on (believe me, I'm the one who discovered the Gold Bond and when I got this 'other type' of rash on my face kept thinking it would work for that one too...and I waited and waited until my face looked like a giant tomato in patches and I had literally dug holes ripping the skin off (oh i TRIED not to but ....) - yeah it was GORGEOUS, LOL).

But if it's regular ole riba rash it works FABULOUSLY on it.  Just make sure you keep the rash really really hydrated - don't stop using it after a few days when the rash stops or it will zonk you out again big time!

I had psorias on my elbows also. It was on the right worse than the left. I liked the Gold bond Shea Butter because it's so rich.
Good luck, it'll come and go maybe, it did for me.

The gold bond they recommend is in a blue bottle, extra strength. Great for itching also.
