riba rash or scabes?

Ok i really need help on this one guys, i am on hep c treatment pegsays and ribesphere, i went to the doctor because i have a horrible rash all over arms chest and legs, it itches and ive scratched it until i bleed, its worse at night,  I think its ribarash, it just came to my knowledge it could be that, ive had that before went and got a shot of methylprednisolone and it cleared it right up, i forgot to tell the doctor i was on these meds, he told me i had scabes, he didnt scrape the skin though, prescribed me lotion and its not helping, so my question to you is do you think its riba rash or scabes? cause its been so long since i had riba rash and that didnt even come to my mind, for once in my life i almost hope its riba rash cause i know how to cure it, thanks for your help!

It's a very, very common side effect of Ribavirin. I would strongly suspect the drug.

I agree with meakea. No doctor can be expected to see sx of tx and know what they are if they don't know your are on tx. Just look at our regular blood work... if they saw my labs and didn't know about tx, they'd probably think I was dying.

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, and putting a really good lotion all over your skin to keep the moisture in.

Knottek...you kind of threw your doc a blind curve by not telling him you are on Hep C treatment.  Yes, your rash "could be" riba rash but my suggestion would be to call your doc tomorrow and give him the missing piece to the puzzle - that you are on Hep C treatment - so he can be better armed to give you an appropriate diagnosis.
