Hep C and sore throat/fever virus

I have Hep C. I have had Hep C since 1969. I have chosen not to take the treatment. I am usually healthy though my count is high. Recently I have a fever that doesn't respond to asprin and a sore throat. Is this related to my Hep C or is it just an autumn sore throat/fever?

sore throat with intractable fever.  Sounds like it def could be strep throat.  You want to see a doctor for a test because you can have complications from untreated strep, if that's what it is.

Tylenol and ibuprofen help bring a fever down, not so much with aspirin.  Although if your enzymes are high your doc may not want you to take tylenol and/or ibuprofen.  Sounds like you really do need a trip just to the gp to check out your throat and make sure you don't have strep or a different bad bacterial or viral illness.  In fact, my son once got a staph infection in his throat that mimicked strep and thank God he was on antibiotics because they thought he had strep at first.

I don't think anyone can tell you if it's related to HepC, but maybe someone will chime in who has the same problem.  Do you at least know your genotype and have you ever had a biopsy?  Welcome, read around for awhile.  God Bless
