16 Week Lab Results and Riba Level

16 week labs; Stage 2, Genotype 1B, partial responder.
4 week and 12 week UND with incivek.
ALT - 35
AST - 26
Hb - 12.2 (11.2 1 month ago)
Plt - 111
ANC - 900
WBC - 2.1

Some days I feel better than I should and some days are a reminder of the riba and interferon.

Riba as reduced to 600 at week 4 due to Hb drop from 15.3 to 11.4; planned to increase, but rash showed up big time at week 8, so kept at 600.  My dr's view from materials available is that the role of riba is less significant in SVR after UND with incivek.  Since Hb is good, we could increase riba, but have agreed not to.

I know that riba reduction is a touchy topic for some and understand both sides; I don't want to go through this a third time either.  I also want to be able to function.  I still can't run, can't ski, forget where I am going, and have to manage diet, sleep, etc to make the most out of it.  If I up the riba, that will be impacted.  Will it increase my chances for SVR?, there are a lot of other variables in play.

Good to luck to everyone going through this; I have 32 more weeks to go; shot 17 tonight.

I am clear of the virus at 3mo post 24 completion with incevik.  I was reduced on riba and interferon much of the time.  I was on procrit and neupogin.  I fought with the docs constantly about dose reduction, it all turned out OK.  Sounds like you're doing pretty well in the anemia dept. I got an incevik rash near the end of 12 weeks, it was awful, much worse then riba rash.

Those labs all look great for someone doing treatment. If the severity of the rash has not decreased after ceasing the Inci, then it mayt be more Riba related, and seeing as how a severe rash can often be a show stopper.sounds like you and your doctor have made a good decision on the Riba ,one based on data that states there are no effects on SVR ,especially if one is already UND. and has only moderate fibrosis.
Possibly if the rash does get less severe he /she may consider increasing the Riba...

Good luck the rest of the way..

Congratulations on your UND at week 12!!
I know what you mean, about missing out on the fun. I really want to start riding my bike again, but also fear the muscle aches, which seem to increase, when I work out, so I have just stuck to walking my dog.
My Doctor started me out on the rescue med, Procrit, when my HGB level slipped down to 9.4  (I felt like I was suffocating, and couldn't get a deep breath, huffed and puffed from going up the five stairs to my house)
Procrit is no picnic either. For a few days after that shot, I get deep aches in the large bones in my leg, because the Procrit works by stimulating our bone-marrow to create more red blood cells...yikes.
I just got the Riba rash myself, in the beginning of the week,  so now I am itchy, achey and irritable!
It sounds like you are managing well,  and that you and your Doctor are being realistic about just how many side-effects a person can take, for another 32 weeks!
