Thank you, for your replies, i tried treatment a few years ago but it was too much to handle for 12 months (only lasted 3). Are there any other treatments out there? Also I had a lot of cravings for alcohol even though I had not drank for many years, has anyone else experienced such cravings?

I was put down 50% interferon week 5and sweats returned whole body temperature raised. Should I carry on with treatment or give up may do GCSF next week but that could bring a host of other problems.

Detoxifying from Oxycodone brought on night sweats. Body reacted to the lack of the drug. A reaction to foreign substances offsets the chemical balance in the body and can also cause a reaction such as sweating. For example, on my first injection, I developed a fever of 102. Throw a grain of sand in an engine and it makes no difference. Throw a shovel full in and the engine will seize. Maybe that's why we're told to drink a lot of water when the sweats come...

I had some daytime sweats since I was diagnosed but then I figured out that they were hot flashes and I was going through "the change"  It really sucked to be going through that at the same time as treatment.  But I think we got that all sorted out and I feel 100% better and Im ready to start treatment again.

Count me in as one that had very bad night sweats before treating and becoming SVR. I had always thought it was because i am cirrhotic, guess not since i'm still cirrhotic.

Felonyshoes does not indicate if treating or not.  A while back someone with a treatment-generated whacked out thyroid reported "sweats" which were apparently the results of said whacked out thyroid.

Hi Mike....yeah I have had these for  a few years..and never really thought too much about it being related to HCV.  But it was only 1 week into treatment  that they disappeared  totally. Then within a week of stopping (partial responder))  they came back.    So I guess it is related somewhat you would think.

That was my experience too. I finally achieved SVR and have not had any night sweats since - well really since I became undetectable during treatment.

I have had night time sweats for some years and have  thought it could be related to HCV because of the fact that when treating they stopped  and after stopping a failed treatment they immediately returned . Whether or not HCV related or not ...don"t know ...just my experience.

feels like the body temp goes up for some period of time. never checked the actual body temp as it was happening ussually when i was at work.

it stoped by itself, not really sure if it was hep c related or something esle.

I had night and day time sweats until I cleared the virus. Even though not listed as a symptom there is a connection. My thought was the immune system fighting the virus causing some inflammation / fever.  Just the way a fever helps when the body is fighting an infection.

Sweating is NOT a symptom of hepatitis C.

From MedicineNet
http://www.medicinenet.com/hepatitis_c/page3.htm#symptoms

What are the symptoms of hepatitis C infection?

About 75% of people have no symptoms when they first acquire HCV infection. The remaining 25% may complain of fatigue, loss of appetite, muscle aches or fever. Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice) is rare at this early stage of infection.

Over time, the liver in people with chronic infection may begin to experience the effects of the persistent inflammation caused by the immune reaction to the virus. Blood tests may show elevated levels of liver enzymes, a sign of liver damage, which is often the first suggestion that the infection may be present. Patients may become easily fatigued or complain of nonspecific symptoms.

Good luck.
