symptoms of hepc

I was diagnosed with HepC in 1999 an received tx about 6 years ago. Since the tx I have experienced weight loss, chills, sticky nights sweats and many digestive disturbances including severe abdominal pain at tims. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms following tx? I have also found it very difficult to eat due to nausea, abdominal pain following eating small meals and generalized lack of appetite.

I'm sorry but the only way you will know for certain is to go and get retested. I don't know which genotype you were but if you has to stop 'early' because of red and white cell trouble than perhaps you did not go long enough.  I understand that finding a GI might be difficult but certainly a regular practitioner could order the PCR test? Of course, it's impossible for any of us to know either way but we wish you all the best.

I started tx in around 2002 had to stop after    6mo because my red and white cells were crashing, also platelets.  I was nondetectable.  I felt better about 3mo later, then slowly started feeling worse.  When I was tested after sixmo had passed since finishing tx, I was back at the end of second stage with fibrosis.  I think my md was as upset as I was.  I have had 2 GI doctors since my first retired.  We don't have any hepatologists here in ar.  My last viral load [about two years ago or more] was 19 million. I also have diverticulitus and IBS.  I've been tested and retested [endoscopy, colonoscopy, x-rays, etc. they all show nothing! Still the pain continues the constipation along with this godawful lack of energy. Many of my digestive stuff after tx.

did you clear the virus? when was the last time you were seen by a Hepatologist (liver doctor) or at least a GI doctor? sounds like it is time for you to see a doctor. Good luck
