alt is far more likel to be increased in acute hep c than chronic hep c
It seems you know a lot about this disease, more so than most people who never heard of liver enzymes let alone ALT so yes the answer is it could go up drastically but that could be from other things besides Hep and on it's own is indicative of nothing.
Thank you all for your answers.
I'm wondering about one more thing.
In general if a person has acute hep C with symptoms, would the ALT also be elevated?
As I have understood, it varies in chronic hep c but does it increase in acute hep c and then after how long time after exposure it goes back to normal level?
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your answers!!
Oh no, not the lips again ;o)
There are plenty of terrible STDs that are worse than HCV - be tested for them and don't worry about hep. Be wise in the future and avoid unprotected sex of any kind with someone you don't have a clue about their sexual health, if you don't know their 'status' then keep your own status to yourself...zip the lips.
No risk at all to get hep c that way. Hep C is not an STD.
But you should test for STD's. You could have contracted something else.
I agree with Jusjames. You couldn't have gotten hep c that way.
Thank you Jusjames. I try to relax.
zero risk, move on. practice safe sex to avoid STD's
Please Trish or somebody else answer me. thank you!!
