You have already had the follow up test mentioned (HCV RNA by PCR) and it is not detectable, which means you do not have hep c.

Is it possible to get over Hepatitis C?

Yes, approximately 15%–25% of people who get Hepatitis C will clear the virus from their bodies without treatment and will not develop chronic infection. Experts do not fully understand why this happens for some people.

http://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/hcv/cfaq.htm

A reactive antibody test does not necessarily mean a person still has Hepatitis C. Once people have been infected, they will always have antibodies in their blood. This is true if even if they have cleared the Hepatitis C virus. A reactive antibody test requires an additional, follow-up test to determine if a person is currently infected with Hepatitis C.

Hepatitis C Quantitation

Congrats you DO NOT have hep c, you are one of the lucky one's who have cleared the virus through your own immune system and the antibodies are harmless, as for your symptoms, that is something you need to speak to your doc about but they are not caused by hep c

Have a great day

How can I not -lol Thank you so much I'll not loose sight of it and continue to make some changes.I did it all clean and green. I got 38 years clean now. I don't even think of the past anymore you can't change it. You can only learn from it and grow.

As far as independent living assuming you have hep c which so far you don't know at this point if you do or do not.

Anyway I  had Hep c for 37 years and eventually after 30 years developed liver cirrhosis. I live a full life work full time and all that comes with that. Since I just treated and am cured I can now look forward to living a normal life span even with the cirrhosis I have had for 8 years.

Get that HCV RNA by PCR to see if you are currently infected and go from there

Hi there. Take a deep breath. You are going to be ok. That number you posted is your signal-to-cutoff ratio. It tells how strong your antibody test result is. So it gives you an idea if you have a false positive. Your result looks like a real positive but as hrsepwrguy says, you need an RNA blood test (viral load test) to tell for sure if you are infected.

Hepatitis C is very unlikely to interfere with independent living. And, there are very effective treatments available and most people who treat are getting cured.

Your white count will not be elevated due to hep C. Hep C is a virus, not a bacterial infection. White counts elevate during bacterial infections.  ASk for doctor for an RNA test. Wishing you the best.

Is that the only results you have ? Have they ran a HCV RNA by PCR test ?

If not that would be your next step, people can be antibody positive and not have the virus due to the body clearing the virus though your own immune system as approx 20% of all people who contract HCV do.

also I have some other questions do white cells being ellivated infection of unknown deseases said nothing positive, but still suffer from low grade fevers. I have had a lot of surgers and I am a recovering cutter. I wonder how this happened. I am not a drug abuser, but I haven't always been careful with safe sex. I cant even say when this happened other than I am assuming when I wa asulted in a park it was by an infected drug user. i'm really female and will change my settings. Also I live alone, will this disease interfere with independentent living? my other tests said, insufficent data to continue ra. And that your level needs to be 100 or hghter to continue. Im waiting for them to get back to me but its been four tourcherous days of exaustion panic fear and wonder. Any insight would be helpful thank you.
