what happens if you get sick?

What do you do if you get sick and you are on treatment? Can you take antibodies. My daughter works for Texas Childrens Hospital she came home Friday with a sore throat the day I happen to start my treatment. Then she was sick all weekend, now this morning I wake up with a sore throat and feeling like crap. Is there anyone who knows what antibodics you can take? I know there are some medications you can not take on the Incivek.

Well I went to the emergency clinic tonight they said I have a really really bad sinus infection she gave me some augmentin she looked it up and said that it was alright for me to take it on the treatment. Now I just hope this sore throat goes away. She said that my throat looked really bad and she couldn't believe it wasn't strip. Thank God it wasn't. So now on to the next problem..lol my back had an esi done this summer for my lower back and now that school has started my fricking back is killing me. I know I can't have anymore procedures done on this medicine. I just want to hang my ortho Dr. But I'll deal with that tomorrow.. ooof

The Incivek prescribing informations lists clarithromycin, erythromycin and telithromycin as antibacterials that can cause drug interaction.

"Concentrations of both telaprevir and the antibacterial may be increased during co-administration. Caution is warranted and clinical monitoring is recommended when co-administered with telaprevir. QT interval prolongation and Torsade de Pointes have been reported with clarithromycin and erythromycin. QT interval prolongation has been reported with telithromycin.

I took antibiotics quite a bit while on treatment but not because I was sick, I don't actually recall being sick on treatment.  I was on antibiotics to keep me from getting sick when my white counts dropped, first it was run of the mill antibiotics and eventually heavy duty ones that ran about $750 for about a 200ml bottle.  So...yes, you can take antibiotics while on treatment and some docs will put you on them as a preventative measure depending on your individual circumstances.  You could discuss this with your doc.

Not sure about incivek but on soc which i am on right now at 17 weeks, most general antibiotics are ok on treatment.  Talk to you doc about it.  I am taking doxycycl  for a bladder infection and swollen glands in my neck.
