what is evolution 101?

I never heard of evolution 101. I assume these is a mutant variant, but I am having a hard time finding clear information after a google search. Is this an untreatable strain of hcv created by Interferon therapy?

i tried to read them also, extremely technical. They usually have some sort of summary at the end of these technical documents that makes it easier to understand, but I couldn't find anything that was clear to me.

I googled evolution 101+hepc and found some articles on the subject but it was way over my head to understand.

I always though that Evolution 101 was the study of the short process from primordial slime to professional athlete.  The subjects of the topic are those self-entitled people who take performance enhancing drugs, abuse spouses and others, self-destruct by age 30 and then portray themselves as misunderstood pity-worthy regular people. Or, maybe I'm thinking of punk Hollywood celebrities.  Since it's not allowed here I can't include politicians.

Thanks for explaining Deb. I've tried to educate myself over the 12 years since diagnosis, but the collective experience of people like yourself on the forum regarding treatment is astounding.

If we could all know as much before treatment starts the chances of success would no doubt greatly increase, especially if everyone was being treated by hepatologist that understand what really works and the importance of proper dosing and rescue meds. Every day we hear from people that have a doctor that is really diminishing their chance of success. It frustrating and a shame.

Me thinks he was speaking off the cuff like saying Algebra 101 or something like that.

Supposedly the first time you treat with interferon you have the best chance of success because you can build up mutants and immunities - sort of like with the PIs but on a much much smaller scale. This is why people are usually able to retreat and succeed once they tweak up their meds and continue tx a few months out from their original course.

Personally, I think the 4 week is the best indicator of them all but in the 'olden' days before Berg we didn't have proof of this so many doctors didn't (and still dont) know it. Now knowing Berg and Sanchez Tapias we can see how crucial things like weight based riba, week 4 - 12 PCRs and extensions can give you a much higher chance of success.

In the olden days, just a few years ago when I started treated none of this was really known and was just coming to light. Fortunately for me if I had not known these things I am sure I would have not succeeded.
