I need to make a decision on what to take after going off treatment and the hepatitis reoccuring. My doctor says  I can take more prednisone and less Imuran or more Imuran and less prednisone.  What is more damaging?

Sounds like you are dealing with autoimmune hepatitis.  I am sorry about that.  Most people here have hepatitis C and it is very different and the treatment like HCA mentioned is adverse to autoimmune hep and the treatment for autoimmune hep is adverse to hep C. I suggest that you start again and title your question Autoimmune hep -- YOu will pull out the people here that can help you.  I can't. I think you should discuss further the benefits of Prednisone and Imuran with your doctor.

HCA
Do you mean for rheumatism?
I think prednisone is a steroid and Imuran is non-steroidal .
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication can elevate liver enzymes in which case prednisone may be preferable.
