Simon I live in Illinois and after my wife's insurance pays it still costs 864. a month for pegasys and ribavirin. if you go to PEGASSIST web site and call their 800# certain income brackets can get free meds. we are getting ready to give them a call. i will be starting my 1st treatment this sunday. i am sure i will have many more questions before my 48 weeks are up.

I am from India and my insurance provider pays only for hospital admission not for OPD tx. I have born all expences of 72 weeks myself. Can Rosche/scherring help me?
I was a bit baffled about that comment as well.... not having or not finding??? Ihope you have figured it all out now Simon. I will be starting treatment in May. I do have Insurance but I am on pins and needles worried about what my co-pay for these meds will be. I am a 2b recently diagnosed. I am assuming I will be doing the traditional Peg/Interferone with the Ribav..bla bla bla
Sounds like some of us might be better off without insurance, in some of these cases! Sad to say!
Would someone be so kind to share their experiences with their Insurance Co. related to their Hep C. condition I have Blue Cross BS......I have heard nightmares and lullabys.... I just want some facts.
Thanks to all!!

They're different - not neccessarily one better than the other.
Price? Various pharmacies charge various prices. But I found Pegasys to run approx $2000 to $2500 per month (4 shots), same for Peg-Intron.
I don't understand the comment "I can't find my insurance"? Do you have ins or not?
If not, you can probably get free meds from either Roche or Schering-Plough.
Pegasys is from Roche company. You can get to their website. I am taking Intron which is Scerring company's. Can anyone tell me which is better?
