Acute hepatitis in 2 yr old

Hi all

My nephew (2yr child) has acute hepatitis.

He was diagnosed at ALT/GPT of 3050 which then went 2100>2450>2200>1400.

Presumably is means it is under control yet meanwhile there are no answers from the blood tests and biopsy.

There are no external signs (skin color, weakness etc).
His digestion seems to be fine although his droppings were of a lighter color than usual for a while.

I was wandering if anyone stumbled upon someting similiar :(

Thank you, Jen

If you click at the top on Forums, you will see Ask A Doctor on the right side. I don't see a Hepatitis doctor there, but maybe ask Internal Medicine.

I am not a medical professional by any means. I know my daughter had mono (Epstein Barr Virus), and they said she had hepatitis at the time, because of blood levels and enlarged liver, but she recovered from it. I think (but am not a doctor like I said), that the doctors may call it hepatitis because of the blood levels, etc involved, and because his liver has ramped up to fight the off Enterovirus. It may be a temporary situation. Is there an Enterovirus forum on here? If so, maybe that is a better place to post your question.

A B C came negative
Enterovirus was id'd but doesn't explain the ALT pattern
