I am pre tx and have horrible GI problems - have for yrs (got hep C 36 yrs ago) they say its IBS, gastritis etc. All I know is that is is a major pain. I was hoping it would go away after tx....bummer. I have to eat very small meals - all bland. I bloat like crazy after I eat. Pain in belly, back, heart, liver. Lots of burping. Antacids don't help. I'm on prilosec and take acidophilus and bifidus (this helps)
I've had Interstitial Cystitis, Ischemic Colitis and have a hyatal herniathat probably doen't help. But the good news is I have never weighed more then 113 lbs since food is such a turn off (I'm down to 103 now - ugh).

I can only imagine how fun the tx will be lol - hang in there!
There's to much to celebrate in life to worry about the small stuff..I just try to ignore it and stay real busy.

I don't know that a relapse would cause physical symptoms so quickly.  that said, I am a huge believer in getting whatever testing you feel you need to make yourself feel better, because in my mind, its better to get a test and know you're ok, than to suffer all of the problems that stress causes you for the next six months.

I'd wait until April 22, since you'll have been off from tx three months then, and just have your regular doctor pull a viral load, since your other doctor won't do it if it will make you rest more easy.  Then when you take the July test, that would make it a three month and six month test that you'd had.

And if the paxil isn't stopping you from feeling tearful, see about adding something else to it, such as another antidepressant, or a mood stabilizer like lamictal or something of that nature.

And do give heed to what some are saying about the after tx issues.  There have been a slew of people going off treatment lately and at least a couple have had really difficult issues with gi issues and the like.

I can totally relate. I never experienced depression until i finished tx. As strange as it might sound i had no problem during tx. No one can explain it.  It comes and goes, but i find if iam am focused on other things, its not there. When i am alone  and dwelling here it comes.  Thankfully that is not too often. Just hang in there, this disease and the meds to tx it are more than any one person should have to deal with.

Many people feel all sorts of things after tx and many times its just your body adjusting to being off the meds. I can remember so many people saying they were worried because they felt different things and yet they did go onto SVR, so just try to get tested so you can put your mind at ease. Get a PCR from your PCP or Gyno if you can't get one from your hep doc.

Back pain can be UTI as mouse mentioned. Hang in there!

I hope you feel better soon.

Hey Pearl...

As you recover from your journey of dragon juice... keep in mind that it is going to take AT LEAST 6 months for your body to recover.  You may also want to talke to your PCP about doing a pee test to see if you might have a UTI .. I managed to get a UTI the first week of my first round of treatment and it made me feel as you described, pain in the kidney area and feeling bloated.

Thanks for your reply... Yes I'm on Paxil 40 mg. I'm very emotional and I'm very sensitive to any changes in my body I guess I'm scared of the virus coming back... but I feel my stomach blotted and that's one of the signs i believe so if i'm not wrong.. sorry for rambling on the same thing.. I have isolated myself from friends they don't want to hear anymore I don't blame them.. .. i feel safe asking questions here and venting ... thanks for listening..!!!

First off Pearl are you on any antidepressent?  If you stop it too soon after treatment while the meds are still inside you could have problems. Secondly many people still have problems with their GI after treatment but it doesn't mean you've relapsed - if you just got back your results on 1/22 then you ARE in good shape.
