Apology in Advance

But I don't enjoy the quotes so much

Looking for information here and support and I feel like this page doesn't do that if all I am seeing are these daily quotes

Sorry to be a curmudgeon

I am tired and sick

Nothing personal of course

I just meant that hepcandme should go to the Hepatitis C forum if she was looking for information as I believed that this forum "hepatitis social" that we are on now was more for the quotes and jokes.  I think it's important to have a spot for them though, if it puts a smile on one person's face then it's worth it.

I like your quotes. I may not always post but I like the thoughts you are expressing very much.  I agree with Can-do and Patra, maybe just one thread entitled quotes would be a good idea. Like Nan's thread where people can post their status after treating.
I had not thought of other posts being buried.  I do know how fast one can lose sight of a thread just hadn't thought of it in this context.

The most important thing I have found here is the sense of camaraderie  and friendship.  Supporting each other from our  diagnosis through tx and beyond.

I value each and every one of  you very much.

I love the idea of continuing the quotes on the same on-going thread!  The best of both worlds - easy to skip over one, for those who do not enjoy them, AND available to people, like me, who look there first thing each day for a smile, chuckle, laugh, or something to think about - about the world, myself, or others --- just not hepc/other medical conditions (for a little while).

Susan, you would love The Bone Clocks, David Mitchell's new book. It's full of mystery and adventure and, even though I know I should sleep, I have been staying up far too late to finish it

Serious reading for insomniacs and just a fabulous read!

And Ekkie, I do understand your intention with the daily quotes. You were trying to bring inspiration and levity to people who are facing a potentially fatal illness. What's not to love about that? Thank you for your kind spirit and really, I have nothing but Huge admiration for you

I understand that this is a social side of the Hep C boards, as I have been around here a long time.  I also understand why people post the quotes and jokes and please understand, I was not trying to criticize anyone about it.  It, personally, is not my thing, but it's fine if it helps other people.  Just like on Facebook, I see lots of quotes and sayings that people post, but I just skim over them, because it's just not something that I want to take the time out to read.  There are some people who prefer books that make them laugh, poetry, self-help books, etc.  There again, not my thing. But, I love a good crime solving mystery book, a long drawn out involved drama story, like involving a screwed up family, a true life 'overcomer' story.  Like I just saw the movie 'Wild' and now I'm reading the book.  Each of us, like certain things and dislike others. I apologize if what I said was taken to be a criticizm of anyone posting funny stories or quotes. It was not my intention.

so sorry you feel this is a waste of time. You do have the opportunity to start your own questions. If you prefer I will stop, not a problem but this forum is for everyone all you need to do is ask a question and it will be answered. I'm not sure what my quotes have to do with you posting questions, asking for info, etc. this site hasn't changed in that respect and never will. I am sorry that some of you aren't feeling well because of your Tx I get that big time, not taking it personal.

ijustdontknow......this is hep c social

I like you idea, one thread would be great.  I agree I don't read much of them myself but I do think they have a place here, If they cheer up one's day then that's what's important, we need something to smile about!

I have no problem with the daily quotes but it would be nice if instead of starting a new thread it was just added on to the one already started. That way other peoples threads don't get buried. Just my thoughts.

Anything to lighten the road here is good whether quotes, jokes or just plain silly stuff...:)

Sorry you all feelthat way.  I encouraged the quotes because the cheer me up or provide food for thought.

They are not on the C & Post Tx sites.

Hi, the quotes were started on January 1st by one of our members who is going through tx.  I think she was trying to lighten tx for others.  There are many many other threads to take a look at.

I think when we are going through it we try to do what ever we can to get through the day.

At the top of this page is an i icon you can click on and it tells you what each forum is for. I am pasting it here so you can see.  My best to you, Dee

I don't care much for the jokes and stuff myself, I never really visit this form much, but I find the Hepatitis C form such a world of knowledge and filled compassionate people so thankful I found it. just wondering what was this particular forum like before?

I am so sorry for all you're going through.   :(

I have to agree with you though, I'm not into the quotes, either.  I don't read them.  There's is no interest in them to me.  That and most of the jokes.  I do laugh when i hear something that I think is funny, but to sick and read joke after joke, it's just not something that I want to take the time of my 'computer-time' to be doing.  And contrary to the going trend, I don't stay on the computer or smart phone all darn day and night.

Oh, good to know, Jaime

I guess I will just stick with the other forums

I also visit Cirrhosis of the Liver and Hepatitis C

This particular forum has changed but I guess they all do as people go into treatment, achieve SVR or sadly, are researching other options

I'm new here so correct me if I'm wrong but It looks like The Hepatitis C board is for questions and the Hepatitis Social is for the stuff like daily quotes, chat, rants, feelings, ect. that's just what I gathered from the looks of it.
