dogs  can get a liver disease similar to hep c but not our version.
i think monkeys are the only other thing that can get the human type of hep c.

If him and the dog have been sharing a toothbrush, there might be a problem.  Otherwise, biting each other doesn't pose any problems unless they each have open wounds in their mouths.  If not, your boyfriend can safely bite him back.
