Thanks for the validation Bean! Over the past 3 or 4 days when I shake my hair towel into my spare white tub, there have only been a total of like 10 hairs. Before, there were like 10 just to brush my teeth. Could things be changin? Is the 4 weeks of biotin working? I think that I am onto something important, at least for me. When I stopped the incevik, I continued the high fat intake for about 10 days then went back to near zero which is not good but I have never been a fat eater...About 6 weeks or so after that, my hair started coming out big time which I had avoided until then. Also, knee joints and hand joints became most painful again. The joint pain of years was gone during the first 12 weeks of treatment with the high fat intake. Over the last week I have greatly increased my grams of GOOD FAT. That is when the hair stopped dropping so RAPIDLY and my joints feel much better....HMMMMM
My hairdresser says my body is coming back but I think it is all the new stubble lifting the flat hair off my scalp. I figured I lost at least 60%.
We put in a new shower before tx and it has a handy drain plug and strainer but I couldn''t find the key to open the drain cover. When I did find it, (and remember, this was a new shower and drain) I had never seen such a gross amount of nasty hair in my life. Yet 6 weeks after tx, my some of my eyebrow hairs are over and inch long and insist on sticking straight out. I feel like Groucho Marx.
dragonslayer -- that must have been a real shock losing all that hippy hair. Since the great 60s I have cut several inches off my hair each decade. Now at 64 it is, at the most 1 2/3 inches long. I look at people my age with long hair and it looks really dated to me.
ladyhep = can't believe your hair only started to come out 4 weeks before you were done. You mut be doing 24 weeks.
ceanuthus - I love your hat. It just looks natural on your head
bean
I cut mine off in the middle of my 24 week Tx. I had long hair & my bedroom floor was one huge hairball. It's been 7 weeks post & it finally has stopped falling out. Good to hear some of you grew in thicker!
I think I contracted hep c 12 years ago & my hair started falling out & thinning almost immediately. I'm hoping it will grow in thicker!
I finally had to cut mine off! It was cool cause I had been a long hair hippie my whole life! After 10 months post I notice about 2 more inches of new growth all over. And it feels thick and healthy!
I think the dehydration really does a number on hair, nails and teeth. Not having it long does have its advantages!
Blessings~Carolyn
I was on Incevic for 11 weeks and started loosing my hair in the shower and in the morning waking up with my pillow covered with hair.I went and got a short hair cut and that stopped the hair loss.I was also scratching my head alot because of the rash.
Yea I get one every year with my Clapper and cover round!
:-)
Did you see the Chia Obama ?
BTW: I've got hair sticking up all over the place too.
What are you guys complaining about. When I started I looked like Cousin IT!
At least now I only have to shave 4 times a day!
It will come back thicker and fuller than before...................it's all part of the TX, maybe a different texture.
:-)
Mine fell out for months after finishing tx I was very unhappy but UND so took every hair vitamin I could plus biotin. Not only did it fall out, it was brittle and broke off, even the ends looked terrible. They said it is because we get so dry and I believe it, hair that had looked great was awful during and after tx.
6 months post and finally I like my hair again! While I still have very thin spots I do have new growth of 2 to 3 inches and the hair is looking healthy again, I know it will come back
I am so happy!
5 months post and my hair is getting a little better looking every day. Now... which color should I go with.. I think a darker brown with some auburn highlights? It will grow back! That was a bad sx for me. hair brittle and thin made me feel worse. I should of did the wig thing early on but kept hoping it would be fine. But it wasnt. Then the wig would have been way to noticeable in my daily life. And I was to ill feeling to go out and socialize much...
Well, I am 2 weeks post Tx, and my hairs is falling out worse than it ever did during Tx.
I need to vacuum out my car, which has a combo of my long white hair, and my dogs short white hair.
I also think my hair may have been responisble for
clogged drains, in my bathroom sink, and the laundry-room washing machine sink~
my hair is falling out in sheets,,,my vacuum has a little wig of my hair in it...my car has a layer of hair on the floor that looks like a bed of pine straw....but i am UND..happy
Am on week 23 1/2. Last weekend after I vacumned it looked like my yellow lab had come back to life. Oh my....the biotin has not worked for me but might be better now as I am using a conditioner that I have never had to use before. Oh well...4 days till the last shot followed by 6 days of riba. Then I am done
Me too! I'm at week 45 of 48 and I've had about 80% of my hair MIA for many months. It started regrowing about 3-4 weeks after I started taking Biotin, but then a week after I noticed the regrowth starting, it started falling out all over again. I think I have the same pattern as Naya described – bald patches on each temple and another big bald spot on the top in back. I don't leave the house without a hat!
My hair started falling out pretty bad about mid treatment I guess. My fiance would find my hair all balled up inside the dryer vent. Post treatment, it is still falling out, but not nearly as bad and what I did loose is growing back.
My hair started to fall out more and more somewhere shortly after Incivek, now there is hair everywhere in my house except on my head ,well it is not all gone yet, but I have bold patches on both side of my head and no hair on top of my head. Now wearing bands or scarfs and hairpieces. It is very frustrating but telling myself it will grow back again
Yes it does grow back and now I look like a chea pet. LOL.... but its back.
My hair continued to fall out post treatment. Some members say they didn't have any hair loss until post treatment.
The good thing is it does grow back !
Last time I treated I felt spared since virtually the entire time I treated I still had a long thick braid. And curly. I only treated 19 weeks on the Peg & Riba & didn't clear the virus so I thought I was spared. Within two months I lost 80% of my hair. This was after treatment. It wasn't just the receding hair line and shedding I remember others mentioning either. I started seeing a Dermatologist. The long short is my hair grew back. Plus I had hair pieces and half-wigs I wore in the mean time.
Hang in there! Your hair will grow back!
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger.
I thought I might be spared the hair problems, but after 23 weeks of tx.
I'm getting a litte more hair in comb than I'd like to see.
Previously, I lost some hair at about 12 weeks.
We do need to constantly be thankful for everything!!!
Fortunately, when I was forced to stop treatment my hair came back
really thick and super long. It's remained that way until now.
