I had to have what was left of my spleen removed during treatment for Leukemia back in 1983.    I was diagnosed with Hep C in 1985 (Non A, Non B).  Walked around with hep C without treatment until 2006 and really haven't had any issues that I didn't already  have due to a missing spleen.  (i.e., being more suspectible to infection).

No need to apoligize, I just want you to get your question answered.  I've never heard the subject of not having a spleen come up, but I just thought of something else, you could look in the archives or just run a search in our search box, upper right corner.  Are you thinking of going thru tx?  good luck

I think you would really need to be a little more consice in how you ask your question.  The only person I know who had their spleen removed is no worse off than I am when it comes to his HepC.  He had to stop drinking alcohol, but he didn't stop anything else.  He's still using dope and not thinking about getting treatment.  If you want to look it up just go to pubmed and in the search bar enter hcv AND splenectomy, that will give you over 100 hits.  hope this helps and good luck
