Sorry to read you haven't been doing great but actually your labs look pretty good!
I have no idea on what polychromasia means either and am going to pull out my old labs and see if it is listed.
Hope your rash clears soon!!
I did find this information too, but I do not know what it means, and how it effects me, whether is something I should be concerned with or not.
polychromatophilia
polychromatophilia (increased reticulocytes).
1. A tendency of certain cells, such as the red blood cells in pernicious anemia, to stain with basic and also acid dyes.
2. Condition characterized by the presence of many red blood cells that have an affinity for acid, basic, or neutral stains.
If an automated count is not available, a reticulocyte count can be done manually following special staining of the blood film. In manual examination, activity of the bone marrow can also be gauged qualitatively by subtle changes in the numbers and the morphology of young RBCs by examination under a microscope. Newly formed RBCs are usually slightly larger than older RBCs and show polychromasia. Even where the source of blood loss is obvious, evaluation of erythropoiesis can help assess whether the bone marrow will be able to compensate for the loss, and at what rate.
The terms, polychromasia or polychromatophilia are used to describe these cells on a Wright's stained preparation.
Syn: polychromasia, polychromatosis, polychromophilia.
taken fro msome little sources
I googled it but nothing I found was in terms I understood at all, mostly studies..
I'll try to find some infos...
Probably a question your dr can explain best. I looked it up @ Complete blood count at a glance, a website I go to a lot. It was still confusing to me but here is a definition, can't say what it means:...Polychromasia, blue-staining RBCs indicating that they are immature due to early release from the bone marrow IntracellularStructure.
Red cell distribution width (RDW) is a calculation of the variation in the size of your RBCs. In some anemias, such as pernicious anemia, the amount of variation (anisocytosis) in RBC size (along with variation in shape
