PSI-7977 and Daclatasvir (BMS-790052) 12 wk Interferon-Free Tx Arms Added-Genotype 1

The most interesting aspect of these 2 additional arms...They are for prev. treated failures  that were on either protease( Inci or Vic)...now trying   the combo of the polymerase(7977 ) and the NS5A (BMS790052 ) or Daclatisvir  as it seems to have been named  ...one arm with RIba  and one without.

PSI-7977 400mg QD and daclatasvir 60mg QD for 12 weeks in genotype 1 HCV patients who have previously failed telaprevir or boceprevir treatment;
PSI-7977 400mg QD, daclatasvir 60mg QD and ribavirin for 12 weeks in HCV genotype 1 patients who have previously failed telaprevir or boceprevir treatment.

Printze, it seems the major thing that would keep you from the trial you want ( I assume you want an all oral Pharmasset trial?) is your location and whether they offer the trials there or you want to travel?

What about 1st time treaters gt 1a ,I have read for them as well. I am suppose to start in 2012 with triple tx ,when I see my doc in January I am seriously considerng waiting seeing I have very minimal inflamation all labs good , blood  count good, x-rays good , scans, until 2013 . I feel pretty good this is it . I am really excited and might consider asking doc about clinical trial .I honestly do not want triple tx , too damn scsry. too many bad sides .

"genotype 1 HCV patients who have previously failed telaprevir or boceprevir treatment"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are many who failed in the trials for Tela  & Boce that were done over the last eight years or so.. if the data is correct (and there is no reason to think it is not that ) approx. 75% SVR"d in these trials ..that means approx. every 1 in ever 4 failed..   lets hope the above proves promising.

Are there many of them about yet?

This is great, especially for any who already had been through SOC before failing again on the Prot triple therapy, which must be really gutting.

They are one of many drug companies experimenting on many combinations..  my guess is  in the future there will be  lots of choice,. given all the experiments in the pipeline

I guess it's saying that if you fail a protease, you can still (possibly) cure with a nucleotide. Pharmassett will get back a big piece of that pie too!
