to quote my grandmother "From your mouth to god's ear"
I thought Alaska was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.  My cousin gave us a tour of the Anchorage area and then we drove to Denali; I loved it.

I am not all that fond of the East coast, but by wife's family is all there, so she want to be there as well.  there are some beautiful parts of Florida, but the mountains of the west have my heart.

Susan: we have a place just north of Tampa near Tarpon Springs.

It sounds like there's a lot of us in FL, at least part of the time-Andiamo.  I'm here year round.   About 15-20 min. from the beach, mainland side of the East-Central coast.  Closer to the intercoastal waterway than to the beach.  I spent lot's of hours outdoors when I was younger.  Not so much now days since my skin hasn't been cooperating.   It's very warm here now, but that's pretty expected for Aug.    I don't really expect to turn off my A/C until at least Nov. and sometimes if it's mid-80's, I'm still running it.  But, I love the Dec-March time frame here.  It's generally beautiful.  I love having the windows open and enjoying the 60's and 70's that's my type of temperature.

LMAO Flguy --- that's an awesome quote!

"but maybe it's better to sail to the sunset than watch it from land. "

Andiamo- San Diego --- minus all the people - is my favorite place in the world. I grew up on Coronado - and lived in La Jolla for a bit too!

Egads - I miss Cali - but I don't miss the traffic - the slums or the bad things...

I miss midnight walks on a hot summer night and meeting up with folks at a campfire with guitars... I miss the glittering fool's gold on the beaches.... I miss the malls.. LOL!

But --- I love Alaska now... It's just... I don't know... so beautiful here in a way you can't describe.. Close to Oregon and Washington Coast... But not quite... It's breathtakingly magical.

Hey --- I've got my fingers and monkey toes crossed for you on that trial --- I believe you're going to make it through --- and you're going to feel 1000000 years younger about 5 months post...

And you're going to get a LOT of sailing done!

That's what I believe!

Although I'm not a boating person (at least not sailing) I know there are rental and membership places around where I live (S. Fla).  It's probably not the same in a boat that's not yours, but maybe it's better to sail to the sunset than watch it from land.

LOL - I only wish I could afford two boats.  That is the equivalent of 4 houses.  I love Florida, just miss my boat when it is laid up in the North East.  I just stare at that beautiful water and wish I had my boat there.

I see a few boats here and there in Florida.  I'm sure you could get your hands on one to reduce your misery.

I am ready to start traveling myself.  This is the 16th week on the Vertex trial and now the visits are every 4 weeks.  We are going to Maine and renting a cabin on the ocean in a remote place.  I don't have much energy, but I will try and take short walks every day and read lots of books.

If I am off the meds in October, we will fly to San Diego and take a slow drive to Seattle.     My cousin will fly down from Anchorage and meet us there.

If I need to stay on the meds for another 24 weeks, then we will rent a place in Norwalk CT for October and November and then off to Florida for the winter.  In Florida I will just sulk and be miserable wishing I was sailing instead of feeling sick.

Rock on! LOL!

Hey --- I'm hitting up London/Amsterdam/Paris in Oct 2008... We've been meticulously planning it, my husband's son and I for the last year... (It's his birthday present)

And have a friend in the Phillipines who is dying to have me go with her back home to meet her family and friends --- Might check that place out in Jan 2009 - we'll see how I feel.

Figure it's time to travel in my life --- now that I have it back. Yanno?

Might just have to go sailing!

Hmmmm... I'll have to think on that one... cause we usually nibble on a huge batch for like 2 days around my house...

Or I'll freeze them - uncooked - and then toss them in the fryer.

Hmmmm...

I like a whipped cream Jello Gelatin pie...

(VERY SIMPLE) ANY FLAVOR (our faves are blueberry and Raspberry and Lime)

And you have to EYEBALL the mixture... so add more water or stuff as you go...

2 boxes Jello Gelatin - use just a little under half the amount of water for Jiggler recipe...  Boil - stir... Cool down --- not too cool - or it will harden...

Put  2 tubs of whipped cream (any variety will do --- but I like the creamy kind) thawed first... into a mixing bowl..

Fold in the Cooked Gelatin --- stir....

Try not to eat it...

Pour/spoon mixture into pre-made pie dish (graham cracker crust is yummers)...

And well --- there you go... Chill it --- and voila --- desert!

You can use a Jello one for vanilla or chocolate like that ---- just substitute milk and don't scald the milk!

Ahh -- there you go... Desert.

Bill-a patient and resident of the nursing home, I'll be glad to introduce you!. I had been very patient with trying to teach him to walk after his stroke but kinda lost it after he pulled that stunt. He left the shirt he'd been wearing earlier during therapy. What a creep. I guess being "young" and in a nursing home can cause some control issues. He's 10 yrs older than me, but young compared to the general population.
Hope you enjoy the class your taking. No way could I have learned anything new on tx. I was just trying to remember what I already knew.....like names....how to use a cell phone.....how to spell....what day it was.....how to finish a sentence.
You're awesome for working so hard to beat this disease and still here to help others. So don't even think of drifting off either!
hugs,
Bug
Meki: Girl you can cook! I'm excited to read that recipe and I have a full stomach right now too. Can you post a dessert to go with it???

Ladybug-

Wow, and I thought I was a kinky dude… think this guy gives lessons? (sounds like a guy, but you weren’t quite explicit enough :o). He might be the same fellow we had out here in Cali years ago that they found in the State park outhouses. Seems women were reporting a man in a wet suit and snorkel hiding in the tank portion of the wee chateau. We inhabit this planet with some seriously strange people, I’m so sorry to hear you had to be introduced to one of them. A co-worker or patient? Really good to hear from you- you’re needed around here, so don’t even think about drifting off anywhere, OK? I’ll be looking for more of your words in the future-

Bill

Meki- Halibut poppers sound killer. I used to drive down the Kenai to day fish for halibut out of Seward. We’d leave the big’uns for the tourists, and bring home the ten pound ‘chickens’. Tasty things, huh? Oh, by the way, although I’d marry you for the poppers alone, all the talk about chandelier monkey-sex definitely caught my attention too (details to be discussed later, LOL!). For real though, you’re contributions to this forum are a wonderful gift; keep up the good work, K?

Most people that I've met in the acting business were just like you and I --- except they had different jobs that put them in the "limelight".

And they get really tired of people "oooohing and awwwing" --- sometimes they just want to hang out and be "normal"... Get lost in the crowd.

I can't say that I blame them very much. LOL! I'd like it for about 5 minutes... I get uncomfortable when the waiters and waitresses bring me a cake and sing on my birthday - LMAO!

But --- I like people... especially people who are real... I can't stand "fake" people... or stab you in the back to get ahead people...

So - if someone is cool to me --- I'd be cool to them...

And if anyone came up to me and brought a guitar --- I'd have to go get mine and strum some rhythm with them! LOL! (Even though I suck... I love to play! --- Oh and I'm tone deaf too! I sound like a warbling cat in heat... )

*G*

So does that mean your wife and you are gonna let me come up and play guitar for you?

Well - to be honest --- I cook better than I sing and play... LMAO!

I have a friend that is a Broadway stage actor.  He called and asked if I would take him sailing and he showed up with John Lithgow!

We had a great time with him.  He turned out to be a very nice guy and smart to boot.  After the sail he and my friend went to the car and came back with guitars.  They sang and told jokes for about an hour.  My wife and I felt like we had a private Broadway show!

Luckily I don't work in an office--(luckily for others)--I work in healthcare! I'm in an environment that makes me feel young, pretty and sane (skilled nursing and rehab center) The perpetrator is a resident. I keep my door locked since the incidentand keep, the key around my neck on a chain. I'll manage to lock myself out every other day now, I'm sure.
I decided to venture out into the profile picture world after posting to Andiamo. I was really trying to get Jennifer Lopez' face on a ladybug body, but lack the computer savvy to do that.
Hope you're doing as well as you sound!
I haven't read the recipe yet, but somehow, just kinda lost my appetite:) Everyone's raving so I'll get back to it at a later date. We grilled pizza a few nights back, someone gave that recipe on the forum a while back. N.E.Lady.....don't know what happened to her...
Stick around Meki, you're well loved and appreciated here!

Ladybug --- your face is so famous --- others are using it for their profiles... LMAO!

Hugs girl!

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW Girl --- that's not a very friendly office environment... I think you'd need some serious psychology for that guy!

Well - I guess it could be worse... He could have left the Poo on a big pile on your keyboard...

ICCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!

I have everything but the rose petals sometimes at my job... Lots of vomiters. LMAO!

Sometimes we take a bet on what they had to eat that day... (oooooooh ick)

Corn is usually recognizable.

*G*

Bill --- so sweet!

Darn it,I really thought I had it right and it was Bill Clinton! I'm impressed either way.
Is this a product of your  generous offers to  people to take a ride on  your boat??
Maybe I need to get a boat?
Seriously, I have a famous face myself, so getting on your boat would just about guarantee you to have too many paparazzi on hand. It's the reason my profile is non-existent!
A- you are such a people person, your warmth comes thru even tho you're on this stinking tx!
Take care,

Hey good to see you post. Sorry that you aren't yourself lately, you are usually always cheerful and can make me laugh. Wish I could think of something funny to cheer you up!
How's this: This week at work, I had a guy do something wierd into his shirt, leave it inon my office floor, urinate in my sink, defecate on my floor, and scatter rose petals everywhere. (true story) Now aren't you happy that you don't have my job??
Feel better?? I thought so....

J. Lithgow: I didn't recognise him at first...but now that you told us, I can see that it is him clearly. I think he is a great actor and so funny! Is he a buddy of yours?  I'm glad to hear that the lorazopam is helping. I haven't been writing much 'cause of the fog...but I am reading and keeping tabs on everyone. The Lord willing...a day of sailing is in my future...Hey, would you invite John? Is he single? lol
