Planning

I havent even been informed of a study yet, but I'm planning on it.  I'm even thinking of selling my house and renting after the winter so that I'll be in a more quiet place where I can really heal and get into the treatment.  I'm already basing all my moves on this treatment that I dont even know will be available to me.  Interesting.

Sounds like good advice. I think I will get some benefit from it as well. Just want to say good luck and my thoughts are with you. I'll be interested in seeing your path as we are in similar situations.

Best wishes,
Brent

I felt the same way nygirl does. I worked through 6 of 7 mos. of TX.  Realized after I started staying home that the work had been a good distraction for me and kept me from obsessing on it.  I may have been sicker than most (but didn't know it) and was a walking zombie, but having to perform at work was good for me.

It's normal to be freaked out and want to make big changes to your life when you're diagnosed. A lot of people feel compelled to start TX just to be DOING something about the disease and taking that first shot has a bizarrely calming effect, because you are finally getting back some measure of control.  You get accustomed to TX.  It's a drag but you just get kind of used to the SX and muddle through.  Give it much thought as you need to.

Oh, the reason I will be selling my house is a llllllooooonnnnngggg one, when I was fired from my job with the doc (ahem, after she found out I had hep C ahem) we really didnt get along anyway, (Harpy) any way I was in the process of refinancing cuz my monthly is HIGH for an 1100 sq. ft. house cuz its Santa Fe, so I couldn't refinance cuz I didn't have a job, then,,, unemployment for a yr., now the economy went south so I cant refinance and in 2010 I think one of my arm thingies goes sky high so I definitely wont be able to afford my mortgage.  Just hoping I keep the job I now have.  AND I'm thinking of moving to a simpler lifestyle anyway, kind of like preparing to slow down as I am 60 and really tired of working for other people that sometimes treat their employees like poo poo.
Its pretty OK now, so we shall see Buying a house was something I just had to do, like when I got married, then divorced.  Found out the one I married wasn't who I thought he was after 7 years, found that out the same time I was dx'd with Breast Cancer, (no biggie now)  but now I'm gonna divorce my house while I'm going through treatment or hoping to get into treatment  Whatever....I just do the best I can as I go along.
We shall see what turns up.
Thanks y'all nice to hear from you.  Good advice on staying active.  appreciate it. It seems I think about that nasty virus allot especially when I"m feeling under the weather which might have nothing to do with it.  THE MIND

Sorry...but I just had to re-visit this because it reminds me of right before I started my trial.  It was like how pregnant women "nest" before the babe comes....getting everything ready.

Before tx, I totally nested, lol!  Use some of that planning energy to cook.  I remember being sooooo thankful I baked and froze all kinds of stuff before I started tx.  It really paid off on all those nights I didn't want to cook. Think comfort foods...yummy.

And it was less stressful than moving;

I say start small....sell the couch first.  Then get a comfy one so when you are napping during tx, you will sleep better.

I gotta agree with the wise ones above......staying busy during tx was the way to go for me.

Granted, my sx were lighter than some others....but it still helped me tons.

I wish you the best and will be looking to hear good news about you and your trial.

Determination is a good thing =)

CandoMan is right......Staying active is what got me through treatment.  The days at work were the days I actually felt the best it was the days I stayed home in my grubbies not having showered and gotten up but just watched tv that were the days I felt the worse by far.

HepC is way too isolating a disease as it is........if you get too much by yourself with the interferon it could cause some real depression so be careful and talk it all over with a doctor first!

(Of course I wish I had a house to sell so maybe I'm just really really REALLY jealous that could be it too!)  :)

I agree..at a stage 1  I wouldnt be thinking of selling my house....however I guess we all have to do what our gut tells us.

Just keep in mind you have every minimal liver damage and you do have time to wait.

I wish you the very best.
I also know how much we all want this virus out of our bodies as well!!

Take care

Have to agree with NY, besides i have found staying as active and trying to keep as much of a normal lifestyle as possible can really help, plus tx seems to go faster..... Good luck to you.

you might be one of the people that breeze through treatment and don't need to really go hole up somewhere..........selling the house before you find out how or what you do seems kind of drastic, while determined it just sounds like maybe a bit of an exaggerated jump before you know what is going to go on?
