It was never absolutely diagnosed as adhesions - I assumed that was the cause of my pain but I am still not sure what caused it. It may have been nerve pain. I simply do not know. I sure hope your pain improves/resolves soon. Mike
I'm only a stage 1 on 48-72 week tx, Willie, but I sure hope you feel better and I wish you the best of luck with your recovery.

Thank You for taking the time to write me. How did they find out it was adhesions.
I was transplanted in June 2000 and I did have pain long my incision line after transplant and it persisted for at least 3 years post transplant. It was not excruciating but it was very bothersome, to put it mildly. At one point I asked my surgeon if he could open me up and fix it but we agreed that probably wasn't the wise choice. I did get neurontin from my PCP because it is used for chronic pain. It didn't improve my condition at all so I discontinued it. I either became habituated to the pain or it settled down because I am not bothered by it now and haven't been for a couple of years or longer. I really can't offer any instructive advice and I posted only because I did experience incision line pain and got through it and thought you might be somewhat relived to know that someone else experienced a similar situation. I hope I have not give the impression that I don't think it's a significant problem because I was bothered by it quite a bit. Good luck, Mike
