Quick update

Hi everyone,

I haven't been posting much coz of being so busy with the moving.  Just to let you know, closing date is gonna be JUNE 1, not July 1.

Still don't have results of 18 week pcr (week 16 was VL 90).

I'm thinking about everyone but am too distracted most days to get online for more than few minutes.

To tell he truth, logging on here DOES help my sanity (what's left of it).  It calms me down. . .

Hope everyone is ok.

no not buried in the posts. I have been so busy with my daughter who is graduating in june! I have senior prom the 19th,invitations,commencement party plans for after graduation..ugh! I am on week 60/72 and still hanging in there. I was going to try to move in june but have decided to push it back until july due to way to much going on with senior stuff. The birds and dog will adapt just fine. I worried so much through the move but all is well. Don't worry about the ltd, std stuff it does fall in place eventually but it really stinks when your going through it. I went 6 months with no income until I was finally approved after appeal to ltd. I am lucky I have a very supportive hubby we just celebrated our 7 yr. anniversary, together 17 years. This is also work lol;) hope you see this post and hang in there he looks out for those in need. best wishes:)shelly

Taking a chance this won't get buried in the archives!  :)

"yeah when I moved I had to cram 100 lb husky in back of my mustang and the younger one 45 lb in the front seat! the cat had to ride with hubby in crate in front of movung truck"

Oh, jeez.  At least ya had  a truck!  I travel with one cage on the Kia passenger seat, one on the floor, and 3 in the back seat, with the dogggie bed crammed in between.  I'm probably way more stressed than the flock.  i'm always terrified one of the cage doors will pop open and when i roll down the window to pay the tolls and someone will escape (they're all fully flighted).

And even though I'm COMPULSIVE about latching little chainkey locks on all the food and water-dish slots, it still flips me out and I am exhausted when it's over.

"I had to get rid of my house when I was first dx then I started tx after the first move. That was real fun, went from 2100 sq ft to 900"

Yup, sounds like me, 2000 to 500.

" and thought that was bad but man the second move really scked!"

I'm keeping my fingers crossed a 'second' one isn't in the cards any time soon,  i don't know if i could handle that.

And didn't you say ROUND 3 might be coming up?????

'I packed about a box a day for months...hang in there you'll be okay there is a reason we are going through what we do."

i keep trying to tell myself that . . .

thanks for sharing,

I have all leather interior and blankets everywhere!! lol...I had to get rid of  my house when I was first dx then I started tx after the first move. That was real fun, went from 2100 sq ft to 900 and thought that was bad but man the second move really scked! we did the move in 2 days with help from family thank the lord or I wouldn't have made it..I packed about a box a day for months...hang in there you'll be okay there is a reason we are going through what we do. wishes:)shelly

Hope Nick is having a good day.

Shelly,

reading your post and moaning, especially the LTD, STD, unemployment shell game.

it gives me courage to know you went through it and are almost done with tx and you're looking to the future.

you're absolutely right that stress is a trigger.

i suppose i should really count myself among the fortunate in that, one way or the other, regardless of what happens with my ltd and std, the house sale buys me a couple of years.

after that, well, i'm gonna pray real hard.

so glad you're almost done.  i've been reading your posts since i started on forum, back in january.  you sound much better, now that the end is in sight.

( yup good days and bads days and that's how tx is - hits the nail on the head.  today's a bad day , physically, not mentally.  gotta pull myself together for a 5 hour round trip tomorrow to check on cottage and do a reality check about just how much i'm gonna haveta toss - moving day MAY 26!!!!  (probaBLY IN 2 OR 3 SHIFTs - FURNITURE FIRST, THEN utitlity stuff, then the birds.)

oh lord - 6 birds with 6 cages in my 2001 kia - i did it for 4 summers in a row and i know just how STRESSFUL it is - and there's no one who can help with that - the parrots get so darned stressed when traveling they stress me out!

I also downsized due to finances . I was on std until july when my ltd was to kick in and was denied. they kept me hanging on for 6 months with no income then in december terminated me due to my medical condition and their ltd carrier not able to determine outcome of appeal. I started to collect unemployment when a call came from ltd stating I was eligible. received my back pay which I used to catch up on bills and now receive monthly check. I am glad I am not there working now. They terminated my best friend also whom was pretty high up in the chain,go figure she was the one who helped me land the job. I am now speaking with attny to make things right. Don't sweat the not working, I went crazy there for awhile so used to fast paced interaction with others etc. but I can say the no stress from work IMO helped me to be where I am today. STRESS is a trigger in itself so I learned to slow down, take one moment at a time and enjoy what I can. I have good days and bad days and thats how tx is. You will be okay. Best wishes :)shelly

My Own,

He was a little pricey for me so I'm calling on favors from my tenant, the buyer (who wants to close so early) the handy-man I've been using for the past 10 years.

the fact that I'm moving into such a tiny place makes things easier coz i can't take much.  it's the paperwork, books, pictures, journals, writing, computer, music and bird stuff that's time-consuming.

Mkeela, DP, HT, Child,

thanks for the good wishes.

I really NEEDED THEM!!!!!

you may find me begging for reassurance frequently in the next 4 weeks!  Hope you don't mind.  Once i get outta here and into there it should be fine.  it's the getting from here to there part that's tough.  but, honestly, i'm also VERY excited.

Thank you guys.  :)))))))))

Moving.. what a task that is.  I do not think I could pack up my house alone.  No way..  Especially on treatment...   I can barely clean the house..

Have a followup with the GI today, but I swore he said 2 wks.. I think the girl messed up and I never noticed, forgot it , until I got the reminder call on my voice mail.    But I was running late yesterday, and did not go get my labs done.. so have to go this morning after my appt I guess.

too bad we can't all help you pack up.. we could have it done in no time..
Good luck with the move, and don't over do it.

I can't imagine actually moving. I can't even get it together to get my hair cut.
I took 300mg. of neup. on Wed., Fri. and Sunday. I am ready to quit. I have three weeks to the original 24. But I see my liverhead next week. We'll see what the boy wonder has to say.
The ducks and I fell asleep in the sun today. My best news is my diet; all the cheesecake I can eat.
How does the flock like thier new digs?

The 'real' wyntre's coming with me, along with venus, basil, peekaboo, pixie and skybyrde.

i'm in the pc room packing right now and they're supervising.

i told them they better shut up or i'm gonna clip their wings.  they're complaining their cages are gonna be smaller.  i told them i'm downsizing so they gotta downsize too.  they insist they wanna be nmaintained in the custom to which they've become accustomed.

you can imagine what i said in response to that!

Mkeela,

i'm taking it real slow coz i have no choice.  you're absolutely right about trying to pace myself.

i get confused with everyone's stats, but isn't nick on week 7, round 3 or thereabouts?

yeah, i have bad sides (although this week so far seems better than last) and it really is disconcerting to have them change so much, but i guess it's better than the alternative. . .at least it's not dull!

i read your post on the other side about to TX or NOT to TX, for how long, at what dose, with what odds, do the positives outweigh the negatives, and it's VERY confusing for all of us.

So, i can imagine, as  a non-hepper, it must seem overwhelming.  it can be equally overwhelming for those on meds to try and explain the sx.

And, I would imagine it must be particularly difficult for a very young man, especially if they're not communicative or talkative or verbally expressive in the first place.

What I gathered from the other side is that if Nick stops this time, you guys will wait for new meds.

From (the little) i understand about the reseach, reports, trials, it would seem he has time on his side.

BTW, Your little birdie probably understands every word you say and while he (I gather it's a male coz of the bright cheeks) may not say much to your face, he probably talks (thinks) up a storm behind your back.  (like Nick???)

How's Nick?

Please don't overdo it.   Sounds as if you are really getting organized which is something I did not do well on tx at all.  Make it to work and back is about all I could do mentally let alone adding the physical factor to it as well.  Take care of yourself.  The birds will love their new home I am sure.

Thanks for your thoughts.

The only reason I AM getting (somewhat) organized is coz I'm NOT working!

Ironic, isn't it?

I had to wait to get strung out on tx before I could find time!

And I have no choice - it's a financial thing - I can't keep up with bills where I am if I'm not working and I can't (personally) work on tx so I need to raise money for TX and the future.

Not that anyone's dragging me kicking and screaming.  Again, (ironically) the Hep-c provided me with the MANDATE to change on nearly every level, including leaving a job I've hated for years.

So, here I go again, jumping off cliffs I thought were WAY too high.

Weird.  Having hep seems to have restored my courage.

Of course, a month from now, when I'm settled, I may be whining and groaning and complaining and second-guessing like crazy, but by that time it will be too late to turn back.

About the bloating - I had that really bad a couple of weeks ago, then it disappeared.  now it only seems to act up when I eat Ben and Jerry's. (hahahaha)

It does drive you nuts, sometimes, the ever-changing sx.  Just when you think you have a handle on what to expect and you convince yourself that, yeah, i can do it, the ground shifts beneath your feet and ya come down with something else ya never had before.

Poor Nick - it's bad enough to be OLD and have the sx but to be young and knocked on your butt by these meds, it's gotta be rough.

The GOOD news is, Nick IS young and he's got a lot of strength and fight in him.

'The birds will thank you later, when they figure out you did not just dump them , you took them with you!'

Can i quote you?  *LOL*

Thanks all,

I'm so wiped i'm going to bed and it's only 8:30.

I keep telling myself, I'm surviving TX; I can survive anything, even moving.  When I ended up where i am now, 13 years ago, i had just gone through 5 moves in 6 years, two of them 1200 miles each way.  I swore I'd never move again.

That's what I get for using the word NEVER!  *LOL*

Hawke, hope you're doing ok with sx.  that's a lot of meds you're on, but, if i remember correctly, you've only got about 12 weeks left?

LB - you lucky dog, you!  Stopping just in time for summer!

Grandma,

Thanks for posting so quickly.  This was really a "HELP" post - just needed to hear someone else out there besides realtors and buyers and lawyers all salivating at the thought of how much I'm gonna haveta pay them for essentially doing NOTHING!

I was thinking about you this morning when the vulture showed back up on the telephone pole, while the turkeys strutted about and a gray jay attacked, repeatedly the mirror of a friend's car.  Funny birds!    OH

Good luck with the move. Did you get a hold of the guys I mentioned. Hope so, you'll be pleased. They are very good.

Glad things are working out. That was a quick sale. Everything fell in place, which is a great relief I'm sure.

have a good night.
