Redi-Pen- 3 months supplied?

My doctor had ordered 3 months supply of the Redi-Pen for me.
Since this is in a liquid form...
Will the last shot be as good as the first shot in 3 months?

I am concerned that it will expire....or get old.

Hi. Where do you get your medications from. I know of a pharmacy that dispenses them that is not mail order and I like that because i get to actually speak to people if I have any questions. I wouldn't even know how to do mail order. What would you all prefer?

do you have liver damage? if so, your outlook is much better obviously.
if you do have liver damage, look at double dosing in the beginning. i beleive now that todays medicines are a one shot deal for cirrhotic patients. you have to throw everything you can at it.

I just did not want the redi-pins to go bad. They are so expensive. Thank you once again for such great information.

After I received my answer from you all today, I went ahead and let the order go through the system....BCBS and Mckesson.  I trust everyone's answers  and the information a lot.

As long as you keep them in the fridge they will be just perfectly fine.

If possible using the tablet/water mix up form of the PegIntron (I had redipens to start) was much better.  first off I always felt like I was getting ripped off of some of the med with the redi-pen (there is a drop that comes out of the top BEFORE you inject) and with the mixup tablet/water kind I felt I was getting every single tiny bit I was entitled to.

Second - if the power goes out you don't have to worry at all since it's not pre-mixed.

IF the doctor can change the script (I don't see why not) and you are up for it I'd definitely change just for those reasons (even though they are foolish enough, you ARE getting full quantity out of the redipen and how often does the power go out?) but it made me feel better.

Either way 3 months is nothing in the life of a med. You'll be fine just keep it in the fridge but don't let it freeze!

I used redi-pen, 48 to be precise. I left one out all night because I forgot to take my injection. Pretty fogged that night. Anyway I called Cura-Scripts and they called the drug company and basically the answer was that they would last for more than a week at 95 degrees (or something like that).

I also found them to be a little cumbersome at first. I was nervous and I wasn't sure if I was doing it right. After a while it was easy. I was also worried about the extra amount that comes out by itself. My doctor said the dosage accounts for the amount spilled. They must have been right, because it worked.

I've used both the redipen and the Pegasys pre-filled syringes.  Both are easy to handle, although due to an old thumb injury the Redi-pen was a little cumbersome for me.  The redipen has two chambers, one with powder and one with a sterile liquid (thinks its water).  When you are ready to use the pen, you push the pen ends together which mixes the powder and the water.  Then use.  I looked at the redipen site last week to see if they have directions for doing a manual mix of powder and liquid - if it comes in that format  too.  I didn't see them.  But, I think I've read here that some have used Schereing Alpha 2B in a non-redipen delivery system.  I'm pretty sure that Roche's Alpha 2A comes in a couple of different delivery formats (mix it yourself vs. preloaded syringe).  Maybe some one who has expereince with those can chime in.

Have you use the Redi-Pen....
I tried for the powder mix, but the NP said it was the same cost.

Each pen has an expiration date printed on it.
