Check this out.  It's an on-line petition demanding answers to why Gilead is refusing to proceed to Phase III trials and why the drug is so expensive.

The reason the cost is so expensive is because they are basing it on the previous tx of Incivek, Riba, and INF for 36 weeks.  $80k was the average cost of that treatment.

This information is no longer relevant.
People are currently treating with the two drugs and a phase III trial will be starting soon to get FDA approval for the treatment that is now being used off-label.
