VA Benefits

Went and filed for VA Medical benefits today. They said I make to much money but they also said I could file for help cause I was a veteran of the Vietnam era. I was in the Marine Corps from 1972 to 1975. Anyone get any assistance from the VA that is under like circustance?

Thanks
Tommy

I was in the Army from 72 to 74. There surely seems to be a pretty strong correlation between HCV and men who served during that time period, but not in earlier or later periods. I find it hard to buy the argument that more people then were into IV drug use then. I believe many soldiers got it from the innoculations or the gammaglobulin shots administered during training.

Anyway, to my thinking you are certainly entitled to TX from the VA, but I'm no lawyer. I'd sure like to see the government step up (and fess up) on this issue and treat vets right.

Anyone who was in the Marine Corps during Viet Nam should get whatever VA benefits there are.  My way of thinking.

I don't recall it exactly, but I think there's a website named something like 'hcvets'. Perhaps googleize it....

Hi Tommy--

I don't know much about the VA inner workings, but you might want to repost this in the other forum; this side (the social side) is more for BS and off topic talk. The other side (Hepatitis C forum is more for issues like this.

I hope you get this figured out soon-

Bill
