Sounds alright Mark.I was asked a few years ago by a tv reporter he was asking random people on the street, the question was what is a poet ? The first thing that came to my mind was a poet is someone who can put eloquently into words what everyone feels.
I did not ask for it, but it came my way.
It arrived by a route that I cannot say
The fact is that it does not really matter
To ponder it will make you mad as a hatter
It lives inside and you it does not bother
Until years in the future, it can turn your life to fodder
Some say you die with Hep C, no need to treat
I say I cannot wait; it is something that I need to beat
Some say the treatment is worse than the disease
I say of the ends of the two, Hep C will not please
To de-compensate from the maladies of the liver
A torturous life the Hep C will deliver
When I am attacked, I for one will fight
Because if not, I will surely fall in night
The treatment will test the strongest of people
With the support of the community we will be brought equal
History shows that the meekest of us all
Have been able to beat the beast by keeping eye on ball
Hang in there while you fight, you can do it as many have done
Svr will be your life’s reward, It’s good to know that you’ve won.
New end that I like better...Mark
Thank you, I knew I could count on you...Mark
Think you very much, I was surprised how easily it flowed out and the only rhyming help I used was for have, surprisingly few rhymes for that...Mark
It's a powerful message. Isn't it cool that it just came out like that? I'm a language arts teacher. If my grade counts... I give you an A+. Experiences come and go, but words can last forever. Your words are very moving.
Way to go Mark.
Karen :)
I like it Mark. I feel very passionately about the subject matter, so thank-you!
I take it you like it? I don't know what got into me, but this is the first poem that I have ever written...Mark
