HIV may be the "in" charity for rich hipsters and overrated hollywood types, but there is no way in hell that there's much compassion thrown towards those living with the disease. When people in the US think of the average HIV patient, they picture someone in an african village, not the 19 year old college student next door- many female, usually black (highest infection rate). The donors are compassionate cause they see the epidemic as distant and foreign and they want to be benevolent do-gooders.  Its wonderful that they choose to give, but 95% of those do-gooders wouldn't marry, adopt or live with an HIV infected person and the average american feels the same way about HIV and those Americans who live with it as  this guy feels about Pamela Lee and  Hep

Sad to see them both gone.  The Pavarotti and Friends concerts were annual concerts held in his home town in which the proceeds went for charity.  Yes, large spirits, hearts and voices.  I'm glad you guys liked it.  Not only was the sound great but it was beautiful, both on and off center stage.

yeah, you gotta wonder about haters, are there more now? or have there always been this many? out on those blogs they are all over the place...hopefully, like I said, they are mostly kids who have a lot of free-floating aggression, and their violent video games mentalities spill over into everything else... OMG, love AC/DC, and a lot of other bands from that period, I know I sound like an old fa*t, but many of these new bands just s.ck if you ask me (and nobody is, he he he) they just copy the older bands anyway and they are not half as good, might as well listen to the older bands for some quality music...hurumph! boy, am I showing my age!:)

Felt so good when I closed it.  Ahhhhhhhh.  Whatever he lacked in imagination or intelligence he made for with volume.  

I think when a person only gets 33 replies on Utube Many of (which were repeats) you can conclude that most people didn't have the interest to even trash it.

Now.....trashing "Bewitched"....that's worth the effort.  That might be worth Utube rant.  This chump is a nobody.  The people who put out "Bewitched" (written by Nora Ephron) did a major disservice to everybody who has the virus.  Shame on them!!!!

sometimes I go to some of these blogs, mostly to debate politics or my animal anti-fighting abuse causes, etc...

and many times I see these horrible things (I like to think they are mostly kids with a lot of aggression and no where to go, so they go to the blogs) about Pam Anderson, that she's used up and past it, with stinking Hepatitis, those kind of lovely, charming things...(supposedly, she got so much hate mail when she was outed with hepatitis, that was a big reason she backed off of talking about it)

Is it any wonder that we feel connected to other people with this disease? Ergo, these forums? When there is so much mean-spirited ignorance out there about this disease?

H*ll, HIV had it's period of hate mongers, and still does, but for some reason there seems to be more compassion thrown there way now...guess they organized and got things done on the public relations front, more power to em, we just need a little of the same thing...

When I do see things like this, if I'm able and have the time, I quietly try to educate...if they are receptive? fine, if not, that's fine too...then I resort to my old mantra..."what other people think of me is none of my business" that's always helped me when I've come across the hopelessly and adamantly ignorant....

What's the old saying? The more I know of human kind, the more I like animals? just kidding...for the most part:), ha ha!

I don't have the cahones for that. I'm into privacy big time. It never ceases to amaze me what people will put their name/face to on the internet. TO NO END I tell ya'. The only thing that protects these poor oafs is the sheer volume of their fellow buffoons providing a steady supply of said buffoonery. I'm not too happy about my sons myspace much of time but I have no control over that at this point. I've been burned. That's all I can say. I learned my lesson long ago.
