Will interferon cure Herpes ?

Sadly, I have to report a resounding NO on that. 5 months post I had an outbreak. Lasted about 10 days but I was able to catch it fairly early and treat. The problem is, the symptoms are so bizarre that I never think it's an outbreak till it is. I always get severe lower abdomen pain and my first thought was something I ate or my diverticulitis. I of course, blame Clinton for this as he was in office when I contracted this terrible disease.

I know some people had asked this and I was hopeful, but to no avail. Right now I take Acyclovir but if anyone knows of something better, please, PM me.

Sounds like you should have done what Clinton did, perhaps you wouldn't have gotten them!  I had them years ago, haven't had an outbreak in probably 20 years. I feel cured, not sure if I am!

I bet you forgot to do your injection directly into the outbreak. This worked for me. I don't know if it actualy cured it or scared it so bad it refuses to come back. REMEMBER I am not a Dr.

I don't know enough about how much the Interferon/Riba system works together to come up with a hypothesis about this question, but its an interestiing one because it kind of seems as though it's a good theory to test.

I guess my question to you, regarding your little home experiment, is the following:

1) How much interferon did you take, how often. and what type were you taking.
2) Did you take Acyclovir (sp?) at the same time, and if so, how much, how often and for how long
