Yes, interferon cause blood sugar levels to rise so when you quit tx they may become normal again.  I have diabetes caused by HCV before I started tx and from what I read don't expect it will cure itself even if I SVR.

FYI, I don't know if you drink diet sodas or anything with aspartame but in me they bring on immediate insulin shock (low blood sugar).  I think the drinks fool your body into thinking you ingested a large amount of sugar and secretes too much insulin.  Try to watch your diet carefully and walk every day.  I know that's hard while doing tx but it will help your blood sugar levels which will in turn increase your chances of SVR.

Hip Hip Hooray!!!!  That is fantastic!!!

How are you feeling these days?  I'm not feeling all that great but that's normal, right?  I guess we can't run a marathon a month after stopping.

Again, so happy for you.  You worked hard for this.

Best regards,

Kittyface

Hope you don't mind that I'm dropping in and joining the svr party.......what great news. Everyone told me that if you can make it to 3 months, you'll make it to 6 and so on.

My sugar has been elevated since tx when I've had blood work done. My dr. kept telling me that he thinks I'm going to be diabetic. There is a condition called interferon induced diabetes, are you familar with that?

I finally asked for an A1C test which proved my blood sugars have been within  the normal range the last few months.

My thyroid did become underactive post tx, but how much of these symptoms are ordinary aging? I have a yr in age for every week you treated--in other words, I'm 55, and the ladybug52 is out of date!
Well, enough about me (it's all about me!) Congrats on your success!

Terrific news, Charm.  :)  Makes me really happy to see your post.  That final test result really seals the deal and you're almost *almost* there!!!!!  I'm SO excited for you!!

And...what's this "running off to work" thing?  I remember during treatment you were a little stressed about the need to find a job.  And now you are running off to work!!!!  So I take it the employment situation has improved for you as well?

Seems life awaits you and hard-earned, well-deserved.  Can't wait to see that SVR post from you!!!  Fireworks from Canada on that one ... we went into this together and weren't supposed to come out at the same time but we did anyway and here we go....!!

All the best, Charm....your new cape suits you VERY well.  :)
