Just venting... People!!!
What in the world is with people anymore? Last summer i bought a 3 seat patio swing on sale new for 200.00, decided i didn't want to mess with it this year so my wife posted it on this local site for FREE....
Like new 3 seat patio swing with canopy. FREE just want it out of my garage.
The first reply asked if i would take a pic of it and post it.... NO i won't, so she responded "then I DON'T want it".... The next asked if they "decided" they wanted it would I deliver it. Your kidding right? One wanted me to hold it till this weekend so they could see it. This went on and on...
Are people getting so used to getting something for nothing that they think you should give in to their demands??? Unreal!!!

Yeah, where I come from we call that "to the curb". And if you were caught robbing the parking meters, next to the curb, surely you were one of the Gutter Punks!

Ya know I use to swing on the curb. In fact one time I awoke on a curb to a blurry image above me - a couple of our local boys in blue, rockin back and forth above me, doing yo-yo tricks with their nightsticks, dawn just breaking above their heads...Officer 1: So whattya think, can't leave him here with his legs all out in the road, can't believe the turkey hasn't been run over, reeks too much to put in the car this early in the shift....'heck of a place to curl up for the night fella - although we do appreciate you didn't drive home from the bar'. Officer 2: Yeah I really don't wanna do any paperwork so early. Hey, go grab a marker from the car, I'm gonna steal that tag sale sign over there. We'll turn it around and write FREE on the back. Guarantee ya somebody'll take him....free is free.
Hmmm ... We must be a bit more civilized here. Last year I had a new 3 seater put in but I had it built in the back. Had em dig the pit nice and deep too. Seams to keep down the flies. It would have been a shame to have to move the sofas to make room in the front.

Moved from Upstate NY to VA with washing machine. House already had one. Put the well traveled fridge at end of driveway with sign "Free - Works Good" It sat there for two weeks. I put another sign "$25.00 - Works Good".
It went that day. Don't know how to figure that!

People put everything out on the curb here. You can easily furnish your house and clothe yourself.
I just replaced my office chair. End of the month is the best time, when people move, what they don't take, is out on the curb.

In Canada, we use duct tape for that.....
And no....there's no picture on his advert!! I want to see a picture first and THEN delivery to Canada...although I'd be happy to magnanimously accept a round trip plane ticket and his credit card number to charge the limo transport to and from the airport and the cargo fees for the swing and he wouldn't even have to leave his CHAIR even.

Hey can undo.. I'll take it , could you possibly rent or buy a truck and drive it up to my house..If I am not home when you get here ..would you mind setting it up in my sons yard for him (I will leave the directions).

People are also skeptical of "free" when it seems too good to be true. They think there must be something wrong with it. So if your goal is to clear out your garage.....post the picture or put it at the curb where people can get a look at it. Just sayin'.
Well, I know it's free but if it costs nothing to post a pic...even if it's free, I'm not going to drive over to someone's house and waste time to look at it. A picture would have that out of your garage in no time. For all anyone knows, it could be some godawful pattern that you'd have to pay THEM to take away. Time is money. I don't take junk just because it's free. Not saying your swing with canopy is junk cause it ain't but they don't know that, right?
