When you went on disability was it thru work or ss?
Also did it take long?
I will probably be "let go " from my job and am not up to looking for one. I applied a few months back and due to workplace disability , make too much per month. They did not ask what my bills were though. Thanks for listening.
I don't believe Lexapro will help you with those problems!!!! I took that stuff for 2 1/3 rounds of tx and finally had enough during my 3rd and quit!!!!!!!!!!!! One note: I stopped
cold turkey and you don't want to do that with lexapro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Side effects to tx are exactly why I don't do it. I just live quietly and secretly with this horrible disease. I don't tell anyone anymore because they run from me... This was a rude awakening! We are living in the shadows and no one seems to really care. If I had HIV I would be a hero. I am a very angry Hep C survivor. I have mild chronic and was told tx was really not necessary if I chose not to do it - it wouldn't make much difference. Also, the antibodies will always be there even if you are clear of a load. I think this whole thing is a load of ......! A bunch of victims. I got this from the govt. when I was given a massive shot at induction center. Went into delirium, fever and almost kicked the bucket! They don't care and I am sick of the medical community pushing these horrible drugs that don't help average sufferers. Why is it that wealthy people can get rid of this but I can't? Always living with a lie. Afraid someone will find out I am sick!
Same here. I am 16 months post TX (did not get SVR), same problems, same medicines. I actually had the congitive problems before TX , but they were really horrid during TX. Improved some the first months after TX, but leveled. Hepatologist said studies are showing some folks never really completely recover. I went on disability during TX and probably will be forever (I am 59 years old). Meds help some but are NOT perfect. I rest a lot, do yoga, try for other exercise -- generally am learning to live this new life.
Best wishes to you.
Sorry to hear of your difficulties, and yes it is true that some ppl have extreme negative after affects from tx. Here's a short clip from a treatment page off of the fda website. I wish there was more study material on what type of patient will respond to SVR in such a negative manner but until then tx seems to be a roll of the dice. With that said, I am willing to roll the dice again but I need get healthier. Until then I will educate myself by reading and participating on this forum. In the case below it seems to be the ribavirin that took it's toll on this patient. good luck to you
"We've learned from research in other viral diseases that combination therapies rather than [a single drug] may offer the best potential for effective treatment," says John Hutchison, M.D., medical director of liver transplantation at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation.
Bill Ruttman, 44, a Lansdale, Pa., hepatitis C patient, has taken the combination treatment since last October. As a result, his HCV levels have dropped to undetectable levels, and his once-elevated liver enzyme levels have "normalized," which he says is good news because for now, he feels the disease has been slowed down. "I'm extremely happy in that regard," he says.
Ruttman's successful therapy has come at a price, however, because of Rebetron's side effects. He suffers from extreme fatigue and has to nap often during the day, and he sleeps restlessly at night. He also has bouts of depression and is currently unable to work. His side effects are typical of those experienced by patients taking interferon alone as well as the combination therapy.

I had the same problem for a while after completing treatment. I found aerobic exercise to be a great help as well as drinking a lot of water.
Hang in there -- it will get better.
