jm jm NyGirl and all who helped me with post tx issues

Well i had my appointment with the specialist at the research hospital in Toronto. Sorry it has taken me so long to let you know how it went. The DR was amazing. He was very down to earth, took lots of time with us, he checked me over really good. I did not have my EOT PCR results, he told me that it will more than likely be UND because it was done so close to EOT. I asked about my thyroid and he looked at my bloodwork and said it is coming down. My resting heart rate was 137 and i had tremors. He said that it is tx induced acute thyroiditis and it did not need thyroid meds, it is already working itself out. He precribed me Propranolol for my heart rate and i feel like a new woman. I have been cleaning my house soending time with the kids and hubby. Every one is so happy to see me up and around. I should only have to stay on the meds for a month and he said i will go through a small stage of HYPOthyroidism and then in 90% of cases it goes back to normal. He also gave me an 80% chance of SVR not 70, so of course i like him better than my other DR. So if i do relapes he will be my new DR. If i SVR he told me to go on and enjoy my life.   Thanks Jim and NY for your help with all my questions.   Thanks Anita.
PS....leaving for the Islands on Wed for a week.

So glad you found a knowledgeable doctor who listens, and that "80%" number should give you some more guarded confidence waiting for results, not to mention his take on your thyroid issue.  As to your old doctor who literally abandoned you at EOT, I don't really have the words but maybe you can think of some to put in a letter to him or his boss at the hospital!

All the best,

-- Jim

Thanks for all your support, Yes I think I will write a letter, I would have liked to write it when i thought i was dying and had riba rage, but they probably would have phoned the police.

How are you doing Jim? You help so many people here, I just wanted to let you know that I have learned so much from you. Hubby and I really appreciate you. I hope you have a great support system in your life.
