The number of HCV cases in our area, and as a result, our Infection Control department has come up with a good question. Our medical/surgical unit uses electric razors on the patients. The blades themselves are cleaned and the excess hair is removed, but the IC department is looking for any information on if there have been any cases of the transmission of HCV through the use of electric razors, as one very rarely cuts themselves with an electric razor.
