Makes sense. It's so annoying. I've read how a negative DNA-PCR serum/blood test is a waste but nothing about a positive result. I will definitely be calling my insurance company to complain. Thanks so much!
You might ask for your money back!!
Thanks so much! So even a positive result is of no use? It is just all very confusing as it differentiated and listed that HSV2 was "detected" (the DNA PCR serum/blood test results) but the IgG specific test I had done months after showed only the HSV1 that I know I have antibodies to. It is also confusing because I have not been active for years so there would have been no way to contract HSV2.
The pcr blood test for herpes is not of any use. the provider erred in ordering this. Sorry some times i dont get a chance to read in detail. I read the first test was igg specific.
Well the DNA-PCR exam did not come with values, just the "detected" response. The doctor's office called the lab and there were apparently no values. It was not the standard IgG antibody test but the PCR test with blood and not a swabbed sample.
Hi, yes it is if your positive was a low positive the first time around. Usually a second test is advised then it is. Do you know what your first number was?
