IS WEB MD's symptom list of HSV correct?

I experied a red skin irritation and have/red raw skin irritation on the crease of my thigh.  My other symptoms are nerve pain in and on my penis, burning sensation and almost a bruise like pain at the top of buttucks, chronic dry eyes and a one time small red fever blister type sore on my index finger ( still feels bruised).  I have had multiple HSV test.  One came back pos for HSV 1 (1.41). Then my doc ordered a WB for UofW.  It came back negative.  My docs cannot figure this out.  The raw/red skin in my thigh crease will not clear up 100%.  I have been dealing with this for 1 year since my sex encounter with a Mexican Hooker.  I posted WEB MD symptom list below.  It scares me that they say red skin without itch or burn can be HSV.  Is their information misleading or wrong?  Can you clarify how long red skin can last if it is HSV

Web MD

Any of the following symptoms of a genital HSV infection can occur in a man or a woman:

Cracked, raw, or red areas around your genitals without pain, itching, or tingling
Itching or tingling around your genitals or your anal region
Small blisters that break open and cause painful sores. These may be on or around your genitals (penis or vagina) or on your buttocks, thighs, or rectal area. More rarely, blisters may occur inside the urethra -- the tube urine passes through on its way out of your body.

Thanks Grace.   There are just too many things pointing to hsv.  I have found several stories on the net and in this forum. Lower back burning sensation and pain  Red patch of raw skin near crease of thigh, genital nerve pain, dry eyes, blood on toilet paper  My derm doc looked at my paper cut on my chin and says it does not look like hsv.  We took a culture

I will post my results. However,  it is hard to explain how one can look in the mirror at night before bed and wake up with a paper cut on the chin

Thanks again for all you do

you need to think about something other than herpes!! really, not everything that goes on in the body is due to herpes.

Hi Grace:

What you do for the HSV community is fantastic.  There is no way you could do this without an amazing passion and empathy for the community.  Unfortunately, I woke up this morning with a paperlike cut above my chin.  I am rushing to the derm doc to get it tested.

I am 100% positive that I have some form of HSV.  I guess I am a 1% that does not build anti-bodies. This whole year has been a mess.  Good luck to you and thank you for your help.  I will post the results of my culture.

God bless you!

your biopsy has told you what is going on. it's eczema, not herpes.

Yes.    My biopsy came back as spongiatic dermatitis.  It also seems to me that steroid creams irritate the skin irritation.   What other conditions can cause nerve pain in penis.   Everything points to hsv except the blood test

I am really out of gas.  I am desperate for some answer.

herpes symptoms wouldn't be there almost non-stop like this. The virus just doesn't work that way.

have they biopsied your rash yet?

yes - my dermatologist is stumped as well. We have treated redness as a fungus infection with no response.  I have also met with Urologist and we found nothing. I spoke with an infectous Doc who said he sees these kind of issues with his Herpes patients, but he has never seen someone with all my negative test after 11 months.  Can red skin near the groin and redness in the crease of buttocks, with nerve pain be herpes?  I thought you needed to show blisters.  I also thought that WB was the final answer.  These symptoms won't go away.  I also feel a slight burning sensation at the top of my butt crack.

I have been dealing with this for a year.  I don't kno what else to do.

Thanks for your help.

herpes presents differently on everyone.

you have had multiple negative tests. your provider at this point should be thinking non-herpes related causes of your symptoms.

have you seen a dermatologist too?
