can a cold sore be contracted in genetal area thru saliva

Hello, i recently was intimate w my boyfriend. However, he had a cold sore  that was healing located in the far corner of his upper lip > we did not have oral sex but he did spit(saliva) on my vagina during a dry moment. Is it possible for me to have contracted hvs1 in my genetal area?! If so, what are the chances of that happening? is it anything that can take to prevent it within a time frame? what are my chances? its on the outside corner of his mouth. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

sucking your breast is low risk and not worrying about either.

since herpes is on your mind, talk to your partner about it. http://www.ashastd.org/herpes/herpes_learn_oralherpes.cfm  has terrific, down to earth info on oral herpes for both you and your partner to read. Also discuss if it's worthwhile that you both test for herpes - to see if you contracted hsv1 in the last 3 years and never knew it as well as to test you both for hsv2.  Might as well cover all the bases while it's on your mind right?

ThankYOU for replying yes, like 3 years ago I did/ it was negative. I did that because my bf @ the time had a genital wart and i didnt know what that was about! but how about if he sucked on my breast as well? I am freaking out over here!

it's not likely you'd contract hsv1 genitally just from saliva used for lubricant.

have you ever been tested to know your own herpes status?
