the bactrim will take care of MRSA too which is good.
hope you are all better soon :)
lol ewwww. It was a form of a staph infection so they added an antibiotic to the other one, I'm taking amoxicillin and bactrim and I go every two days for them to check it but it seems to be healing up they took the packing out and it doesn't really drain anymore
are they testing it for MRSA?
keep up the compresses and squeeze out anything you can when it looks like something that to squeeze ( or call me, I love to squeeze pus out of boils like that...lol )
thank you but it wasn't even my lymph node... I went to the ER and I had a huge abscess in my groin area thanks to a misdiagnosis from my campus clinic (yay!)...I had to get it drained and it hurted so bad and now I'm on a bunch of antibiotics because it was so huge....
warm compresses several times a day for 20 minutes never hurt anything :)
hey grace another question, I also heard a how compress could possibly help it go down...Do you happen to know anything about this?
how long has it been swollen?
Yes I am. Does anyone know how long it takes for a swollen lymph node to go back to normal because both of them were swollen in my groin area.. my right seems to have gone back to regular size but my left one is huge to the point where it's starting to scare me. It hurts to move my leg a certain way and I can barely walk :(
actually with oral acyclovir ( the pill form you are taking ), there isn't a risk of kidney issues as long as you aren't elderly and don't have any underlying kidney disorders. No need to increase your water intake, just drink the normal amount of fluids that you always do :) there also isn't any reason for any routine blood work because of being on suppressive therapy - just a fyi.
are you taking 400mg twice a day for suppressive therapy?
grace
Acyclovir is one of the safest drugs available. In initial research with it, side effects were identical in frequency and severity with those reported by control subjects taking placebo, and there is nothing in your symptoms that suggest acyclovir is the cause. Taking lots of fluids won't hurt, and will keep your urine less concentrated (hence less coloful), but there is no need for extra fluids while taking acyclovir. And you're on a very low dose anyway; as much as 10 times your dose is entirley safe.
It is because you are drinking so much water. It's good.
