Afraid I might have Herpes

So i had sex with a prostitute about 11 days ago and now i feel like im going crazy. Not sure if i might have it but this is probably my biggest fear. So I had sex with the prostitute, she gave me oral with a condom on for less than a minute and had vaginal sex for about a minute or two with the condom on. After my encounter, I completely regretted my choice! 2 days later my whole crotch area started feeling irritated (but not my penis whatsoever). So i bought some itching cream for the genital area at the local drug store. so most of the itching went away from the cream on my scrotum. Also, I was scared so i trimmed the pubic area real low so i can see if I develop anything. Now, im getting some itch not on the penis but a bit above the lower abdomen area (dont know if im clarifying right, below the belt line but above the penis). It's literally just a small area where I get the itch but no signs of anything. there has been no bumps nor sores no blisters anywhere. So far im a bit relieved that iv have gotten any signs since ive read that you usually get signs within 2-14 days. but i have lost tons of sleep and sanity over this because over 2 years ago i got HPV that causes warts, and within all the extensive reading ive done it states that it usually takes within 6-24 months to get rid of the virus and thinking that i might have something new and for life is really crushing my spirit. I have spoken to my doctor and he said best thing to do is to take a test 2 weeks after exposure to see if I have contracted anything and i want to talk to him about the itch i keep having. any help to ease my mind would be awesome!! I posted this same question on the free section but i think i want an answer from a health care provider this time because i feel like i am becoming a paranoid mess :(

Yes, most herpes in men arrives on the penis.  That you don't have symptoms there should be somewhat of a relief.  I'm not clear about what might be going on, but fungal infections, crabs, sensitivites to lotions or drugs, various things can cause itching.

First, I don't think your symptoms sound anything like genital herpes to me.  Many things can cause itching, including herpes, but with herpes, I would expect you to see something visible, not just have itching.

You used a condom for all the right things, good job.  But after this kind of encounter, many men feel scared and nervous about the their STD risk.  That's pretty normal.

Yes, most people who acquire HPV clear it within 12-24 months.  I don't think HPV is causing any of your symptoms.  I want you to look for blisters, rashes, something really unusual in your genital area.

Whatever you do, DO NOT, repeat DO NOT, get an IgM herpes antibody test.  There are many false positives on this test, and I strongly recommend that you don't get it done.  If your doctor is asking you to come in 2 week for testing, I fear he/she has that in mind.  Bad test.  Don't do it!  It wouldn't hurt to get baseline testing for herpes, IgG, to see if you might have been infected and didn't know it, prior to this encounter, but don't get an IgM test that some providers believe looks for new infection.

These could be pearly papules which are completely normal.  There's no way to know exactly without seeing a provider.  Normally HPV is skin colored and would grow or change over time.

thanks for your help as usual!! so after a month now. i dont have itching nor any other symptoms that can be herpes. But on the shaft of the penis, the part the skin that stretches back (foreskin), there are tiny little bumps on 2 specific areas. i can only see them by the glistening of a light. but they are very tiny and look like clear bumps. they dont itch and i cant even feel any ridges when i rub on top of it. Like i previously said, i had HPV and warts from it but they would raise up and i would take care of em with a gel, but that was more than a year ago. what can that be? Can that still be HPV? I had it for over 2 years so i would of thought it was gone by now and it does not even look remotely close to any of the warts ive had in the past. im making a doctors appointment soon but this is now starting to freak me out

If not herpes, what can this be?

And another thing I keep reading is that herpes is usually on the penis and I've yet to have any sort of sensation anywhere on the penis, should that really be much of a relief?
