Am I at STD risk ?

Hi.
I received oral sex one month ago from two men on two seperate nights respectively
First man, first night, I received oral sex, we didn't mouth kiss, I kissed around his anus, I never ejaculated in his mouth, he didn't ejacualte, I might have touched his precum, no anal sex was involved.
Second man second night, he gave me oral, we then deep kissed, then gave me oral again, this was repeated couple of times
I didn't ejaculate in his mouth, he never ejaculated, I might have touched his precum, I kissed his nipples, no bleeding gums or sores that I noticed, no anal sex was involved.
I was so worried after those two nights
Directly the next day went to my Dr. I did a mouth swap and syphilis screening
Syphilis turned negative. But Mouth swap showed epithelial cells range between 4 and 8
No puss cells
And also showd gram positive cocci and gram positive bacilli one plus and two plusses respectively
My Dr. Prescribed macromax 500 for 5 days and betadine mouth swap.
After 5 days I did a swap again
Epithelial cells were fine between 2 to 4 but gram positive coçi and bacilli are still  there, Dr. Said this is normal
Sure I was all the time and till now worried
10 days later I had very mild shingles, Dr. Said its not HIV related or any STD
Gave me deslarex and fucidine, one week later I felt fine.
After I'm healed from shingles I did HIV screening as well as hepatitis B and C  and all turned negative

After another 10 days I took covid third booster vaccine felt dizziness for next three days, and I'm still experiencing mild dizziness some times, it get released when I eat, its weired

My questions are
Am I at risk of any STD ?
Do I need to do any STD test?
Is there any relation between shingles and any STD?
Are gram positive cocci and bacilli any danger? And are they related to any STD?
Can i conclude that since I took macromax 500 and mouth wash for 5 days, that I cleared my self from any possible STD other than HIV ?
Thanks for your help

There is no correlation between shingles and STDs - shingles is a reactivation of the chicken pox.

A normal range for epithelial cells in the mouth is less than 10, so that's all fine.

Did you have a mouth swab or a throat swab? Some bacteria is normal - I can't say for sure if what they found is normal or not, there are many different types of gram positive and gram neg bacteria.

However, it doesn't matter because these are not STD tests, and you didn't have an oral STD risk. You didn't give either partner oral, correct? Kissing an anus, or around it, isn't a risk for an STD. Rimming might be, if you had your mouth open or put your tongue inside his anus.

You received oral sex, so your risk for an STD is in your penis, not your mouth. Did the doctor do any urine testing?

The micromax would likely have cured chlamydia and NGU, but not gonorrhea. However, since you took all the antibiotics, you'll need to wait 3 weeks from your last dose to actually test for STDs. Don't go back to this doctor for that - he doesn't know what he's doing for sexual health. Go to an STD clinic.

I just got my covid booster, and had all kinds of side effects, too, including dizziness. It took a good week, maybe week and a half, for it to all go away. With the first two doses, I felt bad for 3 days. I don't know why this was longer, but you aren't alone with it making you feel bad.

I want to thank you for your detailed very helpful answer, really appreciated .
Let me answer you, for the questions provided within your reply.

Regarding the swap, I thought the terminology is called mouth swap, however, when they entered the cotton stick it reached my tonsils, to an extent made me puke,  so I suppose its a throat swap.

Regarding the gram positive bacteria, I went to another doctor, and she did another type of test to check whether there is streptococcus, where she said this type is harmful, the results came negative and no streptococcus in the swap.

U said I did not have an oral STD risk, I just want to re check, me and partner deeply kissed, after he gave me oral, and that was repeated cuople of tomes, isn't that an oral STD risk?

Yes correct, I didn't give any of my partners oral, I just deeply mouth kissed one partner.

Mouth or tongue was not inside anus, rimming was not involved, no bodily fluids was there during near anus kissing even saliva was not there.

Yes I did routine urine testing after three weeks from last day of taking macromax, all results were fine, however pus cells were between 2 and 4, my doctor said I cannot give u any untibootics, coz ure results are all normal even the pus cells results.

Here I want to ask, does a routine urine test detect any STD.?

Now its been 5 weeks from the date of suspected exposure, and 4 weeks from finishing my antibiotics course, I feel normal the dizziness comes and goes but very mild, I'm very releafed that u said its a result of the third booster.

Some times I feel very mild irritating in my penis make me want to pee more frequent than usual, but I drink lot of water through the day.

I try home made medicine, garlic, ginger, honey, and vinegar,  they make this irritating go away.

Do u think I need to test for all STDs ? I'm already passed three weeks from my last dose of antibiotics.

Might there be any chance of infecting any member of my family with any infection ? Just by sharing food, towels, using same bathroom, sleeping same bed, sure no sexual activity will be engaged unless I'm 100% clear.

Thanks in advance.

I just want to re check, me and partner deeply kissed, after he gave me oral, and that was repeated cuople of tomes, isn't that an oral STD risk? - no, this is not an oral STD risk. To get an oral STD, you need to give oral sex. The best chances of getting an oral STD are from performing oral on a penis, since the penis is in the throat. It's possible to get one from performing oral on a vagina, but the chances are lower.

however pus cells were between 2 and 4, my doctor said I cannot give u any untibootics, coz ure results are all normal even the pus cells results. - yes, this is accurate. Most won't treat until they are over 5, some won't treat until they are 8 or 10.

Here I want to ask, does a routine urine test detect any STD.? - no, it can detect white blood cells in your urine, which  can indicate an infection, but it can't identify the type of infection. If you had more white blood cells (the pus cells), they probably would have called it NGU and treated you.  NGU is a non-specific infection in the urethra, and they treat that with azithromycin (micromax) or doxycycline. Even if you had it, your meds would have cured it.

I feel normal the dizziness comes and goes but very mild, I'm very releafed that u said its a result of the third booster. Some times I feel very mild irritating in my penis make me want to pee more frequent than usual, but I drink lot of water through the day. - this can also be from anxiety.

Do u think I need to test for all STDs ? I'm already passed three weeks from my last dose of antibiotics. - I think you should test for gonorrhea and chlamydia. I think your chances are low, though.

Might there be any chance of infecting any member of my family with any infection ? Just by sharing food, towels, using same bathroom, sleeping same bed, sure no sexual activity will be engaged unless I'm 100% clear. - no, STDs don't transmit by casual household contact. They only transmit by sexual activity - oral sex, vaginal and anal sex.
I Can't thank you enough. .
After I researched both gonorrhea and chlamydia, I just want to say that I don't have any unusual discharge from penis, no testicular pain, and no pain during urination.
Is it possible that I might have them without those sypmtomes ?

What about other STDs like syphilis, hpv, hepatitis (A,B,C), genital herps, and trichomoniasis.
Syphilis is maybe. It's uncommon in most developed countries. I don't know where you live (and don't post it here) but you can google syphilis incidence and your country to find out.

HPV - maybe, not nearly as likely from oral as if you had penetrative sex. There's no test for men, so I wouldn't worry.

The only risk for herpes is genital hsv1. If you've ever had a cold sore, then you already have hsv1, and can't get it again genitally. There is no risk here for genital hsv2.

Hep A is not a risk. This is only spread by fecal matter, and is rarely spread sexually. When it is, it's almost always by unprotected anal sex.

Hep B - unlikely. This is rarely, if ever, spread by oral sex, and probably not from receiving oral.

Hep C - no risk. This is spread by blood only, almost always from sharing needles for drug use.

Since you don't have symptoms at a month, I really wouldn't worry. Any testing you do would be to ease your mind.
Thanks again for your clarifications.
One update that I saw my Dr. today and she said that I cannot test for gonorrhea or chlamydia unless I haven an unusual  discharge, then testing would be possible.
Is that true ?
No, that is not true. You can test with a urine test or a swab test.

You don't need to answer this, but I think you might be in the Middle East, since I've talked to others who have heard this before. I haven't known anyone to use this service, so I can't vouch for it, but you might try it, or call for more info - https://middle-east.better2know.com/blog/2021/12/24/sti-clinics-in-the-middle-east/ Even if you aren't in the Middle East, it has some good info about testing.

I really don't think you need to worry about it though. You took a lot of antibiotics, and oral sex is much lower risk. Without symptoms, I'd probably not worry.
Thanks again for your feedback.
I have updates that I want to share with you, for your usual appreciated consulation.
I went today after long search, coz it was not easy to find, to a testing laboratory that does an STD screen.
I Did this screen, and turned out that I have the following STDs positive :
HSV1 IGG
HSV2 IGG
Sure I'm freezing out now with 1000 of questions
1. Is there a possibility that the test results would be wrong?
2.does IGG mean that this virus is not new in my body and its there from long time ago?
3. I'm I gona have an outbreak? Now its 36 days after exposure date.
4. What's the best medicine to take ?
5.Is this contagious to my family, using utensils, towels, etc ? I know I asked this before about STD ingeneral, but I saw some site, they say that yes, it is contagious.
6. Does it mean that I cannot have sex unless I will infect my wife?
7. Does it mean I cannot conceive?

IM really freeking out, I need your help plz?

Other STDs are negative including HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia
Okay, what are your results on the test? Does it just say positive, or does it have an index value, like HSV1 IgG 14.82?

If you have hsv2, and it's not a false positive, which is why I'm asking about index values, you didn't get it from oral sex - that's not a risk for hsv2.

You can get genital hsv1 from that, but the chances are much higher that if you have hsv1, it's a pre-existing oral infection that you've had for years and didn't know it. Globally, 67% of people under 50 have this orally, and 90% don't ever get symptoms.

So for your questions, I'm going to answer them, but I'm not at all sure you didn't get a false positive for hsv2, at least.

1. Is there a possibility that the test results would be wrong?

Yes, see above.

2.does IGG mean that this virus is not new in my body and its there from long time ago?

It means that you've had it for at least 2 weeks up to 12 weeks. There is no way of knowing. I suspect for at least hsv1, it's longer, and it's an oral infection, since you've had no genital symptoms.

3. I'm I gona have an outbreak? Now its 36 days after exposure date.

There is no way of knowing this.

4. What's the best medicine to take ?

If you have oral hsv1, you can take Valtrex to reduce transmission. I doubt you have hsv2, though I don't know your sexual history.

5.Is this contagious to my family, using utensils, towels, etc ? I know I asked this before about STD ingeneral, but I saw some site, they say that yes, it is contagious.

No. In theory, some say oral hsv1 can be transmitted by sharing drinks, utensils, etc., but it's a very inefficient way of doing so. It isn't anything I'd worry about at all. Towels, etc., are fine.

6. Does it mean that I cannot have sex unless I will infect my wife?

You can transmit oral hsv1 by kissing and oral sex if your partner doesn't already have it. If you take valtrex, it can reduce those chances.

7. Does it mean I cannot conceive?

Whether you have hsv1 or hsv2, you can still conceive. It does not affect fertility.

Well to update.

I went to lab today to discuss the results with the doctor.

I asked her about the index rates of the tests, she said that the rate for hsv2 was very low, but she cannot tell the number unless we make another specific test to reinsure that the results are positive. And this test is called herpes simplex 2 ABS IgG.
(This name was written on the invoice, I'm not sure if this is the technical name for it)
And she also said, that yes it might be a false positive because its only detecting antibodies and not the virus itself.

Then I asked :is there a chance of mistaking the antibodies of herps zoster (since I had it 26 days ago) or the previous chicken pox virus,  with the antibodies of hsv2 ?
She said yes .
What do you think about this possibility, is it true?
When googling the IgG accuracy, they say its accurate 85%.

She also said that since the IgG came positive (supposing that the first positive test is definitely correct) , and  not the Igm. That means that u have the virus in your body for the last 6 months, and it is not something that u acquired since 37 days (my latest exposure date).

What do u think of that ? I know u answered before, but is there anything in the test that she could  detect this date or period of (6 months).

What would the index matter in, if it is low or high.
The base point is if I have the antibodies or not, right?
Does the index value determine the time of infection?

When u said about the timing of at least 2 weeks up to 12 weeks .
If I had cold sore (hsv1) in my child hood, the antibodies wouldn't be detectable now? (After years)
Since the virus does not go away.
So the range is more than 12 weeks, It must be covering the years old range of a person.
Is the above statement correct or wrong?

Sorry if I'm sometimes repeating my questions, but they are based on the new information received today from the lab.

Thanks a usual

One fact that I missed to say I suppose.
That might be a reason of acquiring HSV2
Our penises rubbed together
There were no ejaculation from neither side
But penises  skin touched and rubbed.
WS that the risk of HSV2.
"s there a chance of mistaking the antibodies of herps zoster (since I had it 26 days ago) or the previous chicken pox virus,  with the antibodies of hsv2 ?
She said yes .
What do you think about this possibility, is it true?

This is possible. There are also proteins in the blood - totally normal proteins - that have the same molecular weight as hsv2 antibodies, and sometimes that causes false positives. It's tough to say what's happening here, and even if we knew your index value, we wouldn't know the reason why, but they really need to start doing only tests that provide those.

Lots of studies have proven that index values between 1.10 and 3.5 can be a false positive - at least a 50% chance, and the lower the index value, the higher the chance. (If you're in the Middle East, your test values may be different, using a different range and measurement, but we can address that when we get there.)

The IgG accuracy depends on the timing of the test. If it's more than 12 weeks, and it's negative, it's 92% accurate. Depending on the index value, if it's positive, it might be less.

That means that u have the virus in your body for the last 6 months, and it is not something that u acquired since 37 days (my latest exposure date).

This is sort of true.  It can take up to 12 weeks to develop antibodies, but many do much sooner. I did at just over 2 weeks. There's no way of knowing if you are positive, if you had it before or not.

What would the index matter in, if it is low or high.
The base point is if I have the antibodies or not, right?
Does the index value determine the time of infection?

As far as timing, the index value can help if we see it rise. If you tested at a few weeks in, and got a low positive, and then at 12 weeks, it was higher, we might be able to say it was a new infection. It's not a true measure of antibodies, so it's hard to say.

Also, it can vary from day to day. I've had hsv2 for 18 years. I could test today and get an 11.78, and tomorrow I might get a 13.4. It doesn't mean anything - I don't have a more severe case tomorrow than I do today.

If I had cold sore (hsv1) in my child hood, the antibodies wouldn't be detectable now? (After years)

Yes, except that the hsv1 IgG misses 30% of infections. It's only 70% accurate at detecting infections. The tests aren't great.

But penises  skin touched and rubbed.
WS that the risk of HSV2

Herpes is transmitted by skin to skin contact, so rubbing can transmit it. How long was the rubbing? Was it brief touching or friction like intercourse?

Yes, except that the hsv1 IgG misses 30% of infections. It's only 70% accurate at detecting infections. The tests aren't great.

When you said yes, did u mean yes it would be detectable, or yes it wouldn't be detectable ? Sorry the answer was a bit confusing to me.

Also, it can vary from day to day. I've had hsv2 for 18 years. I could test today and get an 11.78, and tomorrow I might get a 13.4. It doesn't mean anything - I don't have a more severe case tomorrow than I do today.

Could I conclude from your statement above that : since my index value was very Law in the first test  (as informed by the lab day before yesterday) then if my second test came positive also,  then this is a confirmation that my hsv2 is very recent (around a month) and not from 6 months or years ago.? Since the index value is low in comparison with yours and with respect to the years.

Herpes is transmitted by skin to skin contact, so rubbing can transmit it. How long was the rubbing? Was it brief touching or friction like intercourse?

Your last question was a confirmation to me that I have hsv2 and the second test will defently come positive.
Since the touching of penis was not preif at all , it was friction.

I think now my my questions will start to investigate more HsV2

Am I goin to pass any infection to family members if I touched them skin to skin with my hands?

Are my hands source of transmitting  the virus even if there were no blisters or sores that I touched.

Is kissing on cheeks or closed mouth a sort of transmitiing even If there were blisters and sores?

The net full of contradicting information and I feel I'm lost and freeking out how to deal with it , not being able to get near my family members :((

"When you said yes, did u mean yes it would be detectable, or yes it wouldn't be detectable ? Sorry the answer was a bit confusing to me." - I'm sorry - I mean it should be detectable, but the test misses 30% of infections, so if you have a negative test, it doesn't mean you don't have it.

"Could I conclude from your statement above that : since my index value was very Law in the first test  (as informed by the lab day before yesterday) then if my second test came positive also,  then this is a confirmation that my hsv2 is very recent (around a month) and not from 6 months or years ago.? Since the index value is low in comparison with yours and with respect to the years."

No. If it remains low, it could still be a false positive. The test sometimes picks up on normal blood proteins that are the same molecular weight as antibodies and gives the false positive. If this is a new infection, that number should rise over time. How do they know it's a low number without knowing what the number is?

"Your last question was a confirmation to me that I have hsv2 and the second test will defently come positive.
Since the touching of penis was not preif at all , it was friction." - I didn't say that at all. I don't know if you have hsv2, and you can have sex with someone for years and not get it. I got herpes from a man I was in a relationship with for several years before I got it.

"Am I goin to pass any infection to family members if I touched them skin to skin with my hands? Are my hands source of transmitting  the virus even if there were no blisters or sores that I touched."

No. You are only infectious from the site of infection - either your mouth or genitals. Hands do not transmit herpes.

"Is kissing on cheeks or closed mouth a sort of transmitiing even If there were blisters and sores." -

If you have blisters present, you shouldn't kiss anyone. You probably wouldn't transmit to a cheek, but just don't kiss anyone or perform oral sex with a blister present.

Why can you not be near your family? It's not airborne, like covid is. You need to either kiss someone (hsv1) or have sexual contact with someone to transmit herpes. I'm assuming you don't do that with your family.
If this is a new infection, that number should rise over time. How do they know it's a low number without knowing what the number is?

This is exactly what I wanted to ask.
I'm considering hypotheticaly that I am positive.
Then I can conclude that, I took the virus from my latest exposure and not years ago ( like around 7 years coz  I had a similar exposure)

I just want to know if the above assumption is correct.

Because if I had this infection years ago, then I will deal with it in a different way.  In terms of how to inform my partner about it.

And if this infection is from my latest exposure, the story will be different.

In all cases I'll keep you posted with my results as soon as I get them today or tomorrow.

I have a 2 years old daughter, I shower her, and I change her diaper, this what I meant by hand to body touching, there are times that hand touches genitals for cleaning reasons,
That's why I'm afraid to touch her now.
Any risks in the above.?

Dear auntiejessi

I just want to take the time to thank you for ure continous care.
Really your feedbacks educated me a lot on all STDs
You, My Dr. And the laboratory specialist, I took the information from the three of you, crossed and matched answers.
You were sure from the begining that I'm HSV2 negative, always giving me clues, but I on the other hand considered my self positive based on some assumptions.

my test came out today to assure that I had a false HSV2 positive, and that it is actually negative.

I can say, those three days were like three years.

I Will try to continue my life normally now.

What a BIG lesson that I've learnt in this one month and 9 days!
Congratulations, I'm happy to hear this!

Just for your future reference, if someone has oral or genital herpes, they are only contagious from the site of infection - either their mouth or their genitals. They can touch, hug, cuddle, bath their children. The only way to transmit hsv2 is sexual contact.

Best to you!
Dear auntijessi

I'm back to take your advice on some concern
I'm recommenting on the same subject chain, hope you will see my request
I'm all good, didn't do any further test.
But I'm still feeling from time to time tingling or numbness like feelings on top of penis
It's not all the time, when I'm busy doing things, or surrounded with people around I tend not to feel this tingling
But when I'm alone, and recall my exposure, I tend to feel this tingling again.
Do you think, is there anything serious.
Is it something psychological?
Is there any kind of additional further test that I can do ?
Sometimes I think a lot of HPV coz it's something that men cannot test, I'm always afraid that I might have had it.
I'm willing to do a full STD scanning after three months of exposure which is end of Feb 2022
But is there any advise that u can give me now regarding this tingling feeling?
I don't feel any burning during urination
I drink lot of water
What do you think, are warits from hpv possible to be accumulating inside penis? Excuse my stupid question.
I read that symptoms of hpv show from 2 to 3 months of exposure?
Yes, it could be psychological because you aren't feeling it except when you are alone and thinking about it. Tingling is often a symptom people feel when they are anxious, and it's not necessarily an STD symptom.

HPV wouldn't cause tingling. Even if you got visible warts, that would be the only symptom.

This sounds a lot like guilt to me - psychological, not physical. Guilt and anxiety can produce real symptoms, but it doesn't mean you have an STD.

If you need to seek counseling to work through this, then do that, but remember that guilt doesn't equal risk.
Thanks for your feedback.
Dear AuntiJessi

Hope this finds you well

It's been 10 weeks from exposure

I did a full screening on the 31st of January 2022 (pass of two months)  and all results cane negative. Except hsv1 (as before)

I did ultra sound 5 days ago, because felt somthing in kidney sode, every thing was OK, however there was a snall kidny stone 5mm, Dr. Perscribed cystone herbal  for 15 days 4 pills a day.

Yesterday I had a swallen eye in the morning, it went away during the day, and then showed again today morning, went to an eye Dr. She prescribed tobracin eye drop for 5 days, three drops a day. And AERIUS tablets for three days, one pill a day.  And she told me to stop cystone  for a while, just as precaution to c how the eye Medicine will react, and then I may continue if things went fine.

My eye was a little swallen on the eye led. During today, But I'm actually feeling a swelling in my whole face, specially at night.

In addition to the above, I'm feeling nausia all the time, I cannot eat any food, feel like I wana through up, I'm avoiding now all source of protein (chicken and meat) trying to take vigitables, fruits, carbohydrates as much as possible.

What do you think those symptoms are related to, you know all my history.

Please advise me as what I may do to find out what's happening, or what might be the reason of all those symptoms

Thanks as usual.
They are not related, I don't think, but is your eye doctor an opthamologist? Does she know you have hsv1?

There is no STD that causes nausea or face swelling. I think you need to see your regular doctor to get checked out. You might be having an allergic reaction to something you are taking, eating or being exposed to, but I can't determine that for you. See your doctor today.
Thanks for your usual support
My eye doctor is an ophthalmologist yes.
She does not know I have Hsv1
My GM doctor told me just let her c your eye, don't tell her about anything related to your incident cause its not related.
Do u think I need to tell her about hsv1 ?
Thanks.
One additional information that the swallen eye goes away during the day almost totally, however, only in the morning time I wake up with a swallen eye
Is this symptom of hsv1.?
I think your eye doctor should know you have hsv1, because that can travel to the eye, but if she is an opthamologist, she should be able to identify an ocular herpes infection. I don't think that's what is causing this, but it would be good info for her to have. And I agree that it's not related to your encounter at all.

Could you be having a reaction to something you use at night? Do you wear contacts and use a solution at night? Do you need to get a new pillow? Clean your face with something?

Thanks
Will keep you updated as soon as I know what is causing it .
I'll go with your advise to tell her about the hsv1. .
Have a great weekend, and I hope you feel better. :)

Hello.  We know you are working with your caregivers and have been given excellent advice here by our members. You've tested and have negatives on all but HSV1 which is quite common in the general public.  We wish you well.
