Herpes transmission thrrough food?

Is it possible to acquire HSV-2 orally if you eat food that was handled by someone with HSV-2?

Worst case scenario, they touched their genitals with active sores, and then didn't wash their hands, and then handled food?

Absolutely NOT will this happen!!!

Herpes is a direct contact disease meaning that it doesn't thrive well on surfaces and will not be transmitted thru such indirect contact as the scenario you asked about.

very, very, very improbable.  hsv (either 1 or 2) can only survive outside of the body for a very short period of time.  unless they stuck their hand down their pants, handed you the food, and you ate it, all within about 30 seconds or a minute at most (and even that is highly questionable)... no chance.
