Anxiety or real deal?

I was recently in the process of getting intimate with someone, who advised me after there had already been skin to skin contact, that they had HSV2 but had no sores present.

I immediately stopped and proceeded to wash myself off thoroughly (with shampoo...) and there was nothing more after that. Only exchange of bodily fluids was saliva.

The next day I had a light stinging sensation on the head of my penis, but I'm no sure if that could be a symptom or a reaction to the shampoo being scrubbed thoroughly over it.
The day after that I got a runny nose and allergy like symptoms, leading to a cough and sore throat too (this is day 2).  I also had pain in my knee joint.

however, I had ran Tough Mudder 3 days before hand, so had been running throuh mud and grit, in cold water with cold weather for 20km, which I can chalk up to the Knee pain and possible cold/flu symptoms.

I just had my blood tests returned back and was advised I tested negative but it's too soon to be 100% sure. My GP reckons that it's highly unlikely, and I have just had a string of bad luck with everything happening at once, heightened massively by my pre-existing anxiety problems.

I just want to know if he would be in the ball park or if I really am in trouble here.

It seems to have formed a loose sort of ring (well a rough ring) around the inside of my foreskin, does that sound like a herpes related issue? (we are 21 days past exposure now). I dont think there is fluid in them as I can poke prod and squeeze them and it doesn't hurt and nothing seems to come of out them.

Went to the doctor - she said that it doesn't look like it and she doubts very much that it's herpes because I don't feel any pain or anything and they weren't tender to touch.
They're few dots with what looks like a little bit of white colouration on the head located under my foreskin. I'm not sure if they contain liquid because they're not big enough to really tell.
I had them swabbed so waiting to hear back - but does that sound like herpes? If not, what could it be?

From what you describe, contracting HSV2 in your situation seems extremely unlikely if no penetration was made where grinding and rubbing would occur to contract the virus if she was shedding.

Your recent update is a little a disconcerting but you seem extremely anxious about this. Please let us know what the doctor says about your lesions and ask for a swab if the doctor believes it's worthwhile.

Do your lesions contain liquid? What do they look like exactly?

Update update:
I just found  a few more... I think this is the real deal now... Seeing doctor tonight to confirm...
Typical, in the world where I have. 1% chance of things going wrong, they will...

To update on this I've had what I can't tell if is the forming of a sore or something else appear on my penis shaft. It's just the one tiny little bump with a tiniest hint of white coloration to it, it doesn't hurt or anything.
Should I be concerned? Does it sound like the starting of a herpes sore?

I've had the flu symptoms since about... around 36 hours after exposure, and it's summer down here (posting from Australia).

How long would those symptoms last if it was herpes related? So far I've had them from late monday and they still exist as I'm typing this Friday morning.

If your shaving down there and its growing back it would appear that the irritations are connected to that. As mentioned your exposure to herpes is really nothing to be overly concerned about. Folks with herpes sores present can have unprotected sex many times and still not contract it.

Testing at 8 weeks would be a good indicator. Also flu symptoms usually late only a few days. Maybe your coming down with a winter cold.

I've also just had what may be an ulcer or a sore appear on the edge between inner and outer lip if that makes sense...

I can't tell if it is or isnt. Could it be worst case scenario or an ulcer from stress?

I'm still experiencing flu symptoms...

Is it possible that I couldbe psychosomaticly inflicting these symptoms on myself if I have pre existing anxiety issues?

I've since been tested and it came back negative - but I believe it's too soon for it to show up anyway?

Also how would I tell the difference between an ingrown hair and a sore? I'm currently going through re growth from shaving on the night in question which is doing little to help my anxiety issues.

With no sores the risk is quite low and really nothing to be overly concerned about. Symptoms dont appear the next day but average about a 5. If your sexually active you might want to have a herpes test for the protection of future partners

Skin contact involved genital to genital contact - not penetration, just rubbing.

Hi. If only saliva was exchanged there would be no risk for contracting herpes. Most all hsv2 is in the genital area. Contracting herpes when no sore is present from a one time affair, the risk would be close to zero. Even with unprotected sex. What type of skin contact was made?
