Are these herpes blisters?

18 days ago I had unprotected sex with a girl I have recently started seing for the first time. Yesterday I noticed two flesh coloured (Slightly red) lumps on my penis shaft about 3 cm away from each other, after exercising. I am not sure if they are blisters, but they are flat and seem to be resilient, in the sense that I cant seem to pop them. They also have no fluid or liquid in them, and are painless. To be honest I have no idea what they are. I have had no other symptoms such as a fever. I am going to get them swabbed on Friday, but I can stop worrying about them.

A few questions I have is....

Assuming they are blisters, is Herpes always the cause of blisters in the genital area, what else could they be?

Do herpes blisters always contain fluid or liquid, and would they pop if you tried to squeeze them?

Can herpes just present its self as blisters without eventually turning into open sores and crusting over?

Should they be at least a little bit painful?

Your advise would be very much appreciated, thanks.

I honestly think you would know if they were blisters.  The blisters associated with herpes are water filled normally, breakable and often tender.  What you are describing doesn't sound like that.  These do not sound anything like herpes.  can you look and see if they have a small indentation in the top of them?  Are you able to express anything out of them?

I doubt that an appointment in one week is going to be much help in evaluating a lesion.

Whether a blister makes an ulcer and crust depends on the location of the lesion.  For example, on the labia of women, crusts don't form.

One again, they are not flat and shiny.

This is my final post on this thread.

Sorry I meant this Friday coming, so in 7 days time. I have an appointment booked. My main concern is the whole 'Mild outbreak' scenario. The fact it is causing me no discomfort reassures me, but I have read so many times that herpes can be painless and so mild that you would not even notice. And that herpes don't always present its self as a typical herpes blister. I cant help but feel that this applies to me .

So do the blisters always turn into ulcers and crust over?

Herpes blisters are not flat and they are not dry.  They are not shiny.  Most people who get a new herpes infection who develop symptoms, do so within 2-10 days.  It can take a few days for a blister to turn into an ulcer.  Your situation sounds more fungal than herpetic.  Did you go yesterday for swabbing?

Its hard to tell because they are flat. I don't think they have an indentation, not an obvious one anyway. And I certainly cant express anything out of them....If by that you mean force any fluid out? They are dry.

They just seem shiny, flat and circular. As I said im going to get them swabbed Friday. If they are gone by then, can I assume that a week is too short for a primary herpes outbreak? (Even so I would still get a blood test after 3 months)

Would the water in a herpes blister be obvious?

Also they have appeared like this for two days running now. How long would it take for a herpes blister to break and turn into an ulcer...assuming they always do?
